Granny’s Hoecakes Granny never measured so I rarely ever do either. ;) 4 cups of self rising cornmeal 1/3 cup of sugar 2 dollops of Daisy sour cream Salt & pepper 2 cups of milk or buttermilk Mix your cornmeal mixture well. Get your cast iron or electric skillet greased up and hot. My grandmother preferred Crisco but we are using Bacon Up lately for the extra protein. Spoon in your mixture and stay close as it starts to fry up. You want it crispy but not burnt. Flip often and cook until golden. Enjoy ~XXAP LTKFamily LTKHome
