You don’t need weeks to host beautifully. You need 3 hours and a plan! If that’s not your thing, then call @thecollective_ep and they will take care of the rest (no matter how large or small). Here are my 5 go-to tips for pulling together a party fast — without the stress and without ordering takeout. 1. Plan ahead to always have seasonal disposable plates and napkins. I always keep a holiday collection around for last minute teenage parties, birthdays or to spice up a Saturday brunch. I often shop @mymindseyeinc & @packedparty for hosting that’s made cute and easy. I can’t tell you how many times I have thrown last minute birthday parties this way. 2. Think outside the regular box. Use a different area of your house for the party. Not always the same kitchen table or island location. This makes it fresh and new — unique for the ambiance. 3. Light candles! The smell when they enter your home sets the tone for the event and will be what brings back the memories. 4. Play background music to fill the space that aligns with your event. For example, for this teenage girls’ Galentine’s we played @megmoroney and they felt home and comfortable from the money they walked in. Frank Sinatra is a great one for an elegant adult dinner, Italian for a pizza night, etc. 5. Bakeries are wonderful for last minute parties. For this one I stopped by @walmart and grabbed ready to bake sliders, chips, cake, cupcakes, fun age appropriate drinks (they love @drinkpoppi & @alaninutrition). The florals are some roses I grabbed at the checkout and arranged them in these darling @packedparty vases. Be creative and have fun! Just remember: Southern hosting doesn’t have to be complicated… just thoughtful. Perfect is not always welcoming. It can be intimidating. Be present and happy.
