When designing a space like this, I like to keep the big elements—like the vanity, lighting, and hardware—classic and timeless so the room can grow with them. But that doesn’t mean it has to be boring for the little ones! ✨

By layering in easily changeable whimsical touches—like fun bath mats, colorful towels, playful cabinet pulls, or framed artwork—you can keep the space sweet and kid-friendly without compromising on style.

Thinking of something a little more permanent… how sweet would Delft -style tiles be with playful scenes tucked into the shower walls? Still cottage. Still charming. Just a hint of storybook magic.

Dreaming up the sweetest little cottage laundry room 💭

I pulled together all the things I’d want to see while folding socks—like the Elena wallpaper in French Colony I designed for @artzaco_ , moody shiplap in Storm Cloud by Sherwin Williams, and classic herringbone stone floors.

Try adding cabinet air holes—they add that charming, vintage feel in the most subtle way. And I’m all for “styling” the everyday: hang your broom and dustpan on a peg rail and suddenly chores feel cuter.

Cafe curtains are another favorite—great for mixing in more patterns and softening the space. Drape one over open shelving, the washer, or anywhere you need a little cover-up and charm. Add some art, fresh florals, and you’ve got a laundry room that feels as cozy as the rest of the home. 🧺
