This morning, as I’m half awake, trying to find outfit inspiration through Instagram stories, I noticed something. I kept hearing “I’m sorry I’ve worn this more than once but I love it”. I didn’t hear that from just one person but literally half of the people I listened to.
Why are we apologizing for wearing a piece of clothing more than once? Why are we spending our hard earned money on something we throw away after one time use? Why is this a trend?
I get, I did it myself too. You read that right, I DID do it but I don’t anymore. I used to think Sally down the road would notice I wore this outfit last week. When in reality no one gives an F and probably doesn’t notice if that outfit is new or not🤷🏻♀️ I’m not going to promote wearing an outfit just one time. That’s just insane and not affordable.
Just imagine if we purchased a shirt for $30 and you made $15/hour. Which means you worked TWO hours for it and you only wore it one time. It really puts things into perspective when you do that. 😳Time is money.
Why don’t we make it a challenge and try to recreate outfits with the same pieces? Use your creativity, save your money, be smart, and don’t throw away your hard earned money.
