NEW YORK šāØ Here is my rundown. In the past, I have liked visiting New York, but neeeeever wanted to live here. I found it to be loud & dirty & felt like I couldnāt be myself when I visited. Donāt get me wrong, Iāve always loved the food & the shows, but it just isnāt a place Iāve desired long-term. Being here for the past couple weeks & staying right in the heart of Manhattan has opened my eyes to this city! While Iām still not sure it is my lifestyle, I can totally see why people love it here. While walking around the always-busy streets, sometimes I will forget where I am for a split second & think maybe Iām somewhere in Europe. New York is like its own little world. You forget life exists beyond the buroughs because so much is going on all around you, why would you need to think of anything else? It feels safe, too (at least in Manhattan), which is something my parents definitely couldnāt say when they lived here in the late 80ās. Henry & I have walked everywhere. I wouldnāt even need a gym pass! š We havenāt gotten on the subway at all... mostly because apparently only a quarter of the hundreds of stations have elevators & I aināt about to carry him and his stroller up & down flights of stairs š„µ. But it is a rather special place, with lots of good people, lots of talented people, lots of famous people (@johnkrasinski), lots of people from everywhere in the world! So much history, so many movies filmed here, so much to see, do, and of course, eat. This is also my first time coming here in the fall and into the holidays & there is something magical here this time of year āØ. Also, this trip, Iāve been able to stay feeling like myself. (Does anyone else understand what I mean by this?) Maybe itās because I have my family with me, we are staying nearby to take frequent city breaks, and maybe I just understand more of who I am now - not sure. But it has felt great! Iāve never experienced anything else quite like New York, and Iām grateful Iāve had this little opportunity to. š @liketoknow.it liketkit http://liketk.it/2GDPi LTKunder50 LTKunder100
