I used to be really good at setting goals. Like, really good. I’d hit my revenue targets, close the deals, check every box.

But I wasn’t happy. I felt overwhelmed. Something felt off.

It wasn’t until I slowed down that I realized: I was crushing goals I never stopped to ask if I actually wanted.

I had set these massive business goals - high revenue, high volume, but my actual focus was my kids. I was trying to do both at the highest level, which meant I was either going to sacrifice something I didn’t want to sacrifice, or burn out trying not to.

I was living out of alignment with my own values because I never paused to ask myself the real questions:

What do I actually want my life to look like?
What do I want it to feel like?
What kind of mother, wife, and woman do I want to be?

So I changed my approach. Now, I take the whole month of January…not to set a bunch of goals, but to ask a few honest questions first. To choose a theme that becomes my filter for the year. To set intention before I set goals.

Last year, my theme was a question: What fruit am I producing? That filter changed everything. My marriage grew stronger. Our home became calmer. I chose therapy over hustle.

This year, I’m doing it again. And in Episode 2 of Golden Life Podcast, I’m walking you through the exact process.

You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need to ask the right questions first.

Today was heavy.
Hormones. Emotions. End-of-year exhaustion.
One of those days where everything feels louder than it should.

So I did something small for myself.
Nothing dramatic. Nothing unrealistic.

I changed my clothes.
Put on the cutest pajamas.
Grabbed a cozy mug.
Turned on Emily in Paris while I made spaghetti for my family. 🍝❣️✨

Dinner still got made.
My kids are still home.
Life didn’t pause.

But I softened. ✨

This is your reminder that becoming a mom doesn’t erase the girl inside you.

DAY 11 ✨ The Christmas Giving Jar

I think every family needs a tradition like this. Something quiet. Something simple. Something that teaches your kids that Christmas isn’t just about what we get… but who we get to give to.
This is our very first year doing a Christmas Giving Jar, and it might be my favorite tradition we’ve ever started. ✨
It’s nothing fancy…literally a little jar from Hobby Lobby and paper hearts the kids cut out themselves. But every morning we pull a card, and it tells us who we get to give to that day:
– writing a prayer for someone we love – doing a chore for a sibling without being asked – thanking a teacher or a coach – leaving a treat for our delivery drivers – choosing someone to bless in secret
Because here’s the heart behind it… I don’t just want Christmas to be magical for us. I want my kids to grow up believing that kindness is part of the season, giving is part of the fun, and joy multiplies when you share it.
Seeing them get excited to SERVE someone else? That’s the kind of magic that lasts longer than any gift ever will. This is the home I’m building. 🤍

This morning was a whole rhythm of its own…
Getting myself ready, getting Aria ready, helping her finish the cutest gift bags for her team, and making lasagna at 8 a.m. so my boys have something cozy and delicious while we’re gone. Mom logistics = love. 💛

I put together a little “snack bar” for the kids too — we don’t usually have this many snacks, but when Mom’s away… I just want them covered and happy.

And oh my gosh, this weekend is FULL.
A full day of dance tomorrow.
Jaiden’s baseball game.
Aria’s first performance.
My heart is doing that thing where it’s excited and a little emotional at the same time.

We checked into the hotel, dropped our bags, and headed straight to the dance party — the girls had the best time. And their gift bags turned out SO sweet, especially the custom ballet cookies from @sugarmagnoliacookies 🍪✨
Not just stunning… actually delicious too. Highly recommend her for any custom cookie magic!

Ended the night snuggled up in our room with a cozy movie, soaking in all the memories we’re making. Tomorrow’s a big day. 🤍🩰

I’ve always been mindful about how I speak about myself in front of my daughter. Words are powerful, especially when they’re the words our children hear us say about ourselves. Early in my motherhood journey, I met a client who shared a story that stuck with me. Her mom would always say, “Wow, mommy looks beautiful today” or “Mommy feels amazing in this dress!” 👗

The impact? As she grew into her teenage years, she never felt the need to say negative things about herself when she looked in the mirror. 🪞

That hit home for me. What we do, what we say—our children absorb all of it. It’s humbling, isn’t it? 🙋🏻‍♀️
Our actions and words shape their inner dialogue.

So, here’s my encouragement for you today Mamas: take a moment to reflect on the comments you make about your own appearance in front of your children, especially your girls.

In a world where extreme judgments and unrealistic expectations are everywhere, let’s be the voice of authenticity and self-love. Filters, edits, and AI are not the reality we want to celebrate. Let’s celebrate real women, real beauty. Let’s give our babies the gift of self-love and confidence.
