Nursing Pillows Boppy > My Brest Friend (MBF) Let me start off by saying you don’t need either of these! I used pillows in the hospital & that works just fine! You can also literally just hold your baby (that’s what moms have done in the past right?) but your arms do get tired (at mine do🤷🏻‍♀️) & there is a learning curve in the beginning with breastfeeding that I think the extra support is helpful for. That being said... We were gifted both the boppy & MBF so I was able to try them both. I think there are pros and cons to each one, so it depends on what you are wanting. Has multiple uses: Boppy You can continue to use the boppy as baby grows! We use ours for tummy time occasionally. Also, I didn’t use it for this, but I’ve heard of moms using it as a donut pillow when it hurts to sit after delivery🥴 C-section friendly: Boppy MBF was very uncomfy with my incision, so if you know you are having a c-section I would not recommend it. Easiest to use: Boppy I don’t know if you’ve tried holding a baby & strapping something on one-handed, but it’s not the easiest thing to do lol. MBF comes with a strap you have to clip on. Most helpful for positioning: MBF We took a breastfeeding class through the hospital & the lactation consultant who was teaching it recommended MBF over the boppy! It seems to help more with your form & positioning baby - which they will tell you in class is a huge factor for successful breastfeeding. One size fits all: Boppy MBF doesn’t fit as many body types as the boppy. It comes with an adjustable strap, but I had to put it on the loosest setting right after having Silas just to give you an idea. They are about the same price-wise, so I didn’t include that in my comparison. If you’ve tried either of these products I would love for you to comment your experience below!
