new book I picked up at Little Bookshop! Solito Javier Zamora

This memoir by Javier Zamora follows his journey from El Salvador to the U.S. when he was just nine years old, trying to reunite with his parents. What was supposed to be a short trip ended up taking months, and along the way he faced so many danger traveling with strangers, crossing deserts, being on boats, and constantly feeling unsafe. But even through all of that, there were still moments of kindness and connection that really stood out. It’s such a powerful and emotional look at the migrant experience.
