How are you holding up? So many of you asked me this! And honestly— you are all way too nice to me! But since you asked— I feel like doing THIS sharing these moments with all of you is EXACTLY what I am meant to be doing right now. When I tell you going on book tour, meeting hundreds of people would have scared the SHIT out of Jessica pre- children… I mean it. Having kids made me have to be brave for them. This mom was not about to let the kids miss out because I was scared. So I push myself— with nudges and shoves from Matt and Emily. Trust me, I didn’t get here on my own. Before kids, going to a crowded pumpkin patch would have sent me running. In fact, if you ask Matt he will tell you how many times I chickened out of doing things because there were too many people and I was scared. I would make him drive to the places I wanted to go, we would pull in, and before we got out of the car I would make him take me back home. No. I’m not kidding. Social anxiety is real. Having a panic attack in the middle of a grocery store is something I have gone through on more than one occasion. I’m much less anxious about things like this now, and for that I can thank Matt encouraging me and Emily pushing me to do what scares me. To all of you who faced your fears and came to see me. I see you. I’m SO incredibly proud of you. I know first hand how scary leaving your house, leaving your comfort zone and pushing your personal limits is. I’m so grateful to meet you to hear your stories and to share mine with you as well! This is the wildest ride of my life and I couldn’t be more honored to share it with each and every one of you!
