I got turned onto Jamaican Black Castor Oil a few years ago. I've bounced between the two brands, Mango & Lime and Sunny Isle. I haven't noticed any difference in them other than I think that Mango & Lime has a wider range of options.

I like to use this oil mainly on my scalp and mixed into a conditioner for a pre-shampoo treatment.

When I deep condition my relaxed hair, I like to use some heating element that helps to open my hair cuticles more and allow the deep conditioner to really penetrate my hair strands. I sometimes use my hair steamer and could use my hooded dryer. The problem is that both need to be plugged into an outlet, so I'm stuck in one place. With this microwavable heating cap, there is no cord, so I can do whatever I want.

Wash day products and results. This wash day was about balancing moisture and protein.

I started with a pre-poo that was a deep conditioner mixed with Jamaican Black Castor oil.

The shower portion started with two moisturizing shampoos - one for each lather. Followed up with a medium protein treatment. My hair felt so soft and silky at this point.

I finished in the shower with a deep conditioner that I enhanced using my microwavable deep conditioning cap that’s not pictured here.

Out of the shower products were simpler, applying a leave-in conditioner and heat protectant before I dried my hair with my Shark FlexStyle.

During the week I twisted or braided my hair at night which gave me really soft waves. Love it!

This treatment smells good, and a little goes a long way. It made my hair feel soft, and it felt moisturized in the morning. Thankfully, it didn't irritate my scalp, and because it kinda works like a leave-in conditioner, it didn't mess up my hair bonnet.
