I used to be a Cardio Queen! Especially when I was immersed in Kickboxing when I initially lost 50lbs. But I was doing 2 things wrong. I was NOT eating enough to support my activity level and I was only doing Cardio. You know where this lead me? Overtraining and injury! Yep. A SLAP tear in my left shoulder was a wake up call and since then I have educated myself. I guess you could say this was a wake up call that I chose to see as an opportunity to grow and improve my methods. Strength training has been my saving grace the past couple of years. I don’t know how I told myself most of my young adult life that I thought it was boring. But I’m glad I was able to really see the value in training multiple times a week. Do you strength train?
