I’m not busy this week. 🖤Why are those words so challenging to say? I feel like much of our culture puts an emphasis on filling every minute. And while that is often unavoidable because of work commitments and family responsibilities, can we also feel good about not going one million miles an hour? Isn’t that something to celebrate, too? Time for reflection, time for rest, time for doing very little. Spending time in this room is always a giant reminder of how short life is because I see memories of my parents in here. It’s the reminder I need to make room for “unbusy.” Not a word, I know, but my mom was famous for making up words so I’m going with it. Here’s to occasionally and intentionally being “unbusy” and not feeling like we are less than when we make that choice.
