🖊 If you’re new to organization, or simply want to do a project in 20 minutes or less the Junk Drawer is the space for you.

☝🏻But first, let’s give this drawer the respect if deserves - and rebrand it with The Essential Drawer. 💥

🟥 Step 1 - Take everything out. All. Of. It.

🟧 Step 2 - Make your categories! - batteries, chargers, pens, random toys, hair brushes, scissors. Take stock of what you have. 🕵🏼‍♀️

🟨 Step 3 - get rid of whatever is unused or broken. 🗑

🟩 Step 4 - divide the space with drawer dividers/organizers. It could be a matching system of perfectly fitting plastic containers. It could also be a cute, sturdy box that came with a gift or a set of greeting cards. Be resourceful! 💁🏻‍♀️

Day 2 - Junk Drawer!

1. Empty the entire drawer

2. Divide everything into categories

3. Keep Only what you need! The only paper should be a notepad or two. Put medicine back with your first aid products. Put small tools like screwdrivers back in the tool box. The junk drawer should only be home to the essential, everyday items!

4. Clean that drawer —A quick wipe down with a cloth, or vacuum should do the trick. Extra points if you put in a drawer liner and cover the entire surface with drawer dividers.

5. Take out the trash and pat yourself on the back!

🌈 I’m convinced Lisa Frank added some addictive and perhaps illegal substances to her paper goods.

🤔 Think about it. Millions of 8 year olds were mesmerized with rainbow kittens riding on unicorn’s backs while they flew through outer space eating 🍕 . Something about this doesn’t sit right.

✏️ And now. So many women in our generation have an unhealthy relationship with cute stationary. Seems fishy. Looking into this later.

📒As for NOW I’m more than happy to collect all the colorful office supplies that bring color and joy into monotonous tasks. Why should writing your grocery list or thank you card feel so boring? Let’s make writing joyful.
