Set an alarm on your phone for every month and bring the old toys out and pack up the current toys to be put away and rotated. Day 12:

Today we are in the entryway of the home! 🏠 This may be your front door, or the door to your garage, but wherever you and your family walk in and drop bags, shoes and backpacks, this is where we want to focus today.

Go ahead and grab your
✔️black bag for donation
✔️your white bag for trash
✔️basket for items to be put away
⏰set your 30 minute timer and let’s go!

⭐️ anything that is in this area that you haven’t used in the last 6 to 12 months, is safe to get rid of. We really need to prioritize the space for our most frequently used items.

⭐️Anything that’s here that you want to keep, but doesn’t belong in the space, put that in the basket to be put away after the session.

⭐️space permitting you want to have a spot to hang backpacks, coats, gloves, and hats, shoes, anything that you or your family needs on your way out the door.

⭐️A way to keep this area clear is by using bins and baskets that don’t have lids, so they’re easy for your family to access. Hooks are great for jackets and bags. If your family has to lift a lid to put something away, they’re probably not going to do it. Make this as easy as possible for your family to follow the system.

Day 7:

Today we are in the kitchen! The kitchen is the heart of the home, and also a major project to tackle, so we’re breaking it up into 3 sections. Today we’re doing top cabinets, tomorrow we’ll do bottom cabinets and bottom storage drawers, and lastly we’ll do the middle level drawers including the junk drawer, and anything else that hasn’t been addressed.

Grab another cardboard box (since anything you donate will likely be heavy or breakable)
Grab a white trash bag for trash
Set your timer for 30 minutes
And let’s go!

Start at one side of the kitchen and work your way to the other side and ask yourself the following question about each item in your upper cabinets

1. have I used this item in the last 6-12 months? If not, let it go.
2. Is this chipped or broken? If so, let’s toss it.
3. Do I have another item that does the same job. Like a rice cooker and instant pot, both cook rice. If you can consolidate, let the extra go.

Day 1 CHALLENGE

1. Grab a 🖤black trash bag for donations, 🤍white trash bag for trash, and set a ⏰ timer for 30 min. You can go past 30 min if you have time but don’t feel like you HAVE to! The goal is to hit every area of our home. You should be able to get quite a bit purged in 30 min, especially if you have a timer pressuring you! If you feel like you need more time (and have the time) set another timer once this one goes off. Repeat as needed but don’t feel bad if you can’t do more than 30 minutes! Anymore than 30 is just extra credit 😉
2. Start at the left side of the room and work your way to the right, emptying only 1️⃣ drawer or cabinet at a time.
3. With every drawer or cabinet, pick your absolute 🔥 favorite items-the one you use all the time and replace ASAP if it went missing. Put those back in the drawer.
4. With the items that are left, I want you to ask yourself these questions: ⭐️Have I used this in the last3- 6 months? If the answer is NO let it go. ⭐️Am I keeping this item because I spent a lot of money on it and I feel guilty letting it go? If the answer is YES, keeping it is not going to get your money back! But it WILL sit in the drawer and make you feel bad for wasting that money even though it’s not doing anything to help you. LET IT GO.
⭐️ Is this expired? Most bathroom products don’t have a shelf life of more than a year. Things like mascara, liquid, eyeliner, and eyelash glue have a short of a shelflife as 3 months! If it’s probably expired, LET IT GO.

Our bonus home system tip today is to set up a “10 minute tidy.” Pick a time that you and your family are *generally* home during the week (we do 6:45 but do what works for your family) Set an alert either on your phone or Alexa to go off every day at that time that says “10 minute tidy “. Focus on the main areas of the house, putting things back in their homes where they go. This is a great way to get the whole family involved, as you race against the clock together!

4. Am I holding onto this out of guilt for money spent or a gift? We talked about this yesterday…we aren’t bringing that energy into 2025 friend, let it go! ❌

Find a bin or box to set up a donation station in your home. This can be been in your closet, your garage, but preferably somewhere on the main floor of your home. Anytime you come across something that needs to be donated, toss it in the box. When the box is full, put it straight in your car, donate it when you are out and about, and then bring the box back to it home for the next round.

How are you doing so far? LMK in the comments!

Day 5:
 🎉 Master bedroom!

Grab your black trash bags for donation , white trash bags poor trash, set your timer, and let’s go!

let’s start in the back corner of the room and work your way to the right until you’re back where you started. This will keep you on track. You’re going to pick up every item and decide if it’s a donate, trash, something that belongs somewhere else in the house, or something that stays in your bedroom.

With each item you pick up, ask yourself:
1. Have I used this in the last six months? If not, let it go!
2. Is this broken or damaged? If it is, toss it!
3. Is it something I don’t LOVE and wouldn’t miss it if it was gone? If it is, donate it!
4. Is it something that is useful and that makes my life better, easier, or just makes me happy? Then keep it!

When you find something that doesn’t belong in your bedroom, put it in a pile just outside your door and wait until the end to put everything away. If you try to do it during your declutter session, you’ll get distracted and won’t be able to get as much accomplished.

B O N U S 🏠 S Y S T E M

This is a simple one but MAN it makes a difference. I want you to commit to making your bed every morning for the duration of the challenge! To help you remember, write a little reminder note and tape it to your bathroom mirror. If you are the first one out of bed, and you leave before your spouse does, see if you can trade something with him to get him to make it! Having a made bed just makes your whole home feel more put together. Try it until the end of the month, and by that point you’ll be at the 21 days required to form a habit! 🙌🏼 #containerstoreambassador #bbeautifullyorganized #organization #declutteryourlife
