You have to try this super easy and budget-friendly home decor DIY! It is perfect for unique, custom lighting without the designer price tag. When I saw this statement vase at the thrift store for $15, I knew I had to have it. I’ve been looking for a really large lamp with this design on the base but most of the ones I liked were over $400. 😱 Luckily this DIY only cost me $80 total including all my supplies 😉 To make any vase into an amazing lamp, you will need: a vase, vase cap, lamp rewire kit, lampshade, lightbulb and silicone adhesive. I had to buy a bigger lamp harp to accommodate the huge lampshade but the rewiring kit usually has one included. I used a rechargeable bulb but you can definitely also make it a plug in one by drilling a hole in the vase to accommodate the cord. Pro tip: Your lampshade should be approximately one-third the total height of the lamp and its bottom width should be twice the width of the lamp base. I couldn’t find one big enough at @homegoods but I bought the biggest one I could find and it did the job! Save this for your next home project and follow me for more easy DIYs like this!
