It’s been a hard week. I’ve been solo parenting since Monday, and my husband has been really sick since Wednesday. And let me tell you!! The enemy has been working hard. Some days, it feels like I’ve let him win. He’s been attacking my attitude, my attention span, my patience, my sleep, the state of my house, and everything in between. This morning, I woke up and told my kids, “I’m sorry, guys. We’re not going to make it to church today.” I truly didn’t think I could do it. They both looked at me and started crying. In that moment, I felt the Holy Spirit convict me. Not with guilt, but with the reminder that the very place I needed to be was in the presence of God. So we got dressed, loaded up, and went anyway. And wouldn’t you know it? Our sermon series is on rest. Today’s message felt like it was written just for me. I’ve been looking for rest in a nap, a clean house, a finished to-do list, my husband feeling better, or just getting through the week. But none of those things can give my soul the rest it’s actually searching for. True rest is only found in Him!! I know this but I needed to hear it preached to me. If you’ve been feeling weary, overwhelmed, or like you’re carrying more than you can handle, this is your reminder that nothing else will satisfy the way Jesus does. Run to Him, friend. He is where your soul will find the rest you’re looking for. Leave any comment, and I’ll send you the links if you’d like anything in this video.
