It was a beautiful day today! We started with the girls’ last soccer clinic and ended with dinner outside. It was an awfully long winter this year and I kept saying I couldn’t wait for warm weather so now I’ll have to try not to complain about the heat! I added some purple to the girls’ room last spring, because ever since she could express her opinion, purple has been Lucie’s favorite color. (And pink Evie’s). I was just informed a few days ago that they “switched” favorite colors. We have not had a lot of sunny days this spring, but thankfully today was one of them! Our 4 month old seems to like being outside just as much as his sisters. When we moved in three years ago, my sister told me I should paint the cabinets dark and replace the island with a kitchen table. I said I wanted to keep the island and I painted the cabinets white...I’ve always been a bit slower (at everything in life) and it normally takes me a few years to come around to her ideas. This room is about to feel a lot different! The big glass door is going to come out on Friday and it will be open to the sunroom. We no longer have places where you can put your hand through from the sunroom to the outside 😳 and we’re putting a wood stove in the sunroom so it will be nice and toasty now in the winter! Christmas decorating with my helper! She helped me clip the greenery outside yesterday and then set up this spot...this is where we moved the rolling shelf (you can see where it was last Christmas in the previous post). I found the little dollhouse on the dresser at a secondhand store for $12 and thought it would be perfect for a nursery, back when I thought we were having another girl...but now the girls have two dollhouses! Good morning! We spend the most time in this room, and a lot of it is on the couch. We looked at sectionals in magazines and online and considered a few others but ended up going with this @ikeausa Ektorp sectional because the price was unbeatable. After my husband built the frame for this corner bench, I used an old foam cushion I had and cut it into two pieces, covered them, and made simple skirts that lift up to store 4 decent sized baskets. We keep legos, doll clothes, and other little toys under there and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me when they all disappear at the end of the day! http://liketk.it/2vYFC #liketkit @liketoknow.it

Here’s an old picture of the other side of their room. It’s usually where I push clutter and there’s a radiator under the window (which I blocked with the dollhouse) so I don’t often photograph it. The Gatsby quote on the trim from when it was my great uncle’s library was stuck on, but I’ve been thinking lately about painting over it with the cabinet color and rewriting the words again in gold so it blends in better. I’m not sure who is most excited about the new storage benches that @luluandgeorgia sent for our girls’ room- I love the way they perfectly match the shade of pink in the rug, and my daughters love that the ban on climbing onto the bed from the ends has been lifted. We used to have @ikeausa wicker trunks at the ends and those were great for storing dress up clothes, but near to collapsing due to all the children climbing on them (in complete disregard to the ban!) 😉 I love that these still have storage but are also sturdy, too! http://liketk.it/2v8Ai #liketkit @liketoknow.it

After at least a week of sleeping propped upright on the couch due to a bad cough, I was so happy to return to our new @lexingtoncompany bedding a few nights ago!
