Because when I heard they were making this show, I was intrigued. Then, when @uniballco sent this Elle Pen Set my way, I got even more excited about it.

I also didn’t want to create any art without at least watching a little bit of the new show, @ElleonPrime. It came out on July 1, and in the first seconds of the first episode, I was already inspired. A pink, decorated envelope flashed on the screen as Mariah Carey played, and I knew I need to recreate that. So, not to spoil things, but the show kicks off with an everything pink birthday party.

The grape color is my favorite, but I am very impressed with the yellow. Also, that “steal” blue hurt to write, but I was just swatching what the pen says. Not the “steal” I would have gone with, but here we are.

I can’t believe it, but Otis is already 1! We celebrated his birthday with presents, cake, blueberries, and of course, a diy party hat. They have become tradition around here. 🥳 I cut it out, lettered and doodled on it, and glued it all together. I’m pretty proud of my little berry doodles. 🫐☺️ I’ve kept all of Agnes’ over the years, so we’ll add his to the stack.

I’m trying to get better at personal mail, so I put my new pencil lettering (see a few posts back) to use to send back-to-school encouragement. It ended up super cute, and I heard this new kindergarten loved it and her new personalized pencils from @laurelprowstudio.

Keeping my creative skills sharp ✏️ thanks to @letteredbylogann’s recent doodle workshop!

As soon as Logann created the block pencil letters, I had to try it in a cursive style. I love how it turned out, and I’ll definitely be doing more of it for personal back-to-school cards. Just took a few markers and my new ZENTO Gel Pen (🔗ed).

Agnes and I had a great time working on other back-to-school doodles with the help of Logann. Just look at Agnes’ glue bottle 🥺

I wouldn’t say people are my strongest skill, but they are still fun. Maybe I’ll pull out the other lil’ frames I have stored away and doodle a few more this summer.

These new ZENTO Gel Pens from @uniballco have been making it just a little more fun to plan out my to-do list, which seems to be growing exponentially. They have a seamless grip and a solid color barrel, which just makes my hand AND eyes happy. It comes in a 0.7 tip, and as someone who prefers a smaller point, I don’t mind these because the ink flow out smoothly but doesn’t gush from this larger .7 size.

It only comes with black ink, but the barrel comes in six colors. You can buy the two-pack set (the Adobe and Linen shown here) or the four-pack set (with the better colors if you ask me 💜🙃) at Target. Both are linked here.

Check out my lil’ video in the post to see the pens in action. They really do write super smoothly without any smearing. I’d even feel good about recommending these to a lefty who is looking for a cute everyday pen to carry around in their bag or have tossed on their desk under a pile of stickers, kid’s artwork and mail. (That last example might just be the state of my own desk right now. Be glad you can’t see it.)
