We’re deep into May-cember over here, which means field trips, teacher appreciation, fundraisers, events and summer prep. 😅 It’s a lot, but at least we have a few fun art projects to go along with all the chaos.

Agnes needed a disposable lunch for her field trip, so I jazzed up a paper bag for her. I did it last time, and she was eager for me to do it again. She’s also been busy with her own art. Swipe to the end to see her teacher appreciation card. 🥺

Nostalgic craft time 🌈📷

Please tell me this wasn’t just a craft we did back in Kansas in elementary school. You did this too, right?

When I opened my Craft Month box from @papersource, @shopcanvas.co and @hpsprocket (which you can still go enter to win by the way), my mind was flooded with crafting ideas, but the tissue paper immediately made me think of those crafts were you used your pencil eraser to squish up squares and stick them on paper to make a picture.

I took that idea and gave it a photo frame twist. I will say, my happiest surprise about this whole thing was how easy it is with glue tape. I vividly remember this craft being very messy: gobs of glue, the paper sliding around, the tissue ripping. None of that with easy-to-roll-on glue tape. 😅 I bet all of our elementary teachers wish they could go back in time and take modern adhesives with them.

I rarely use vintage stamps, but this fancy stationery set #gifted to me by @papersource called for some *fancy* stamps. I dug through my collection to find some warm red, oranges and browns.

Next, I mapped out my stamp placement and penciled myself a guideline so I could avoid writing under my stamps. Then, I lettered and doodled with my new retractable @sakuraofamerica Gelly Roll pens. For whatever reason, the click on them is so satisfying.

My feed is about to go hard with fall mail, especially in October, so stay around to see and maybe get some of it in your mailbox!

How long did it take you to guess what shape I was making? 🧐✂️✨

Probably not long if you’ve been seeing my feed for the past month. I’ve been snail obsessed. So, obviously had to try my hand at collage snails using my new @xyroninc sticker maker from @papersource.

I have never used a tool like this, but it was super easy. Got it right on my second try. 😜 Pro tip: if you use one of these, you want the designed side to be facing up. Another pro tip that I mention and show at the end of the reel is that if you feed things into it one after the other, you’ll more efficiently use your sticky tape. That means you’re able to make more stickers and save money. Win-win!

Finished it off with a few marker leaves and gold @uniballco Gel Impact pen antennae (yep, that’s the plural of antenna when it comes to insects. Another fun grammar lessons with me 🤓).

We officially have a kindergartener! 🥺

It feels like we just ended the school year, but we’re back at it already. Agnes was excited to be back at school, so that made the milestone easier. No fears or tears. Just a wave and on she went playing with her classmates. I’m not sure how we raised such a social child, but it makes these moments easier.

Of course, I had to mark the occasion with some art. I used my @loddiedoddieco chalk markers (from the @letteringbykaren set) to make her this lil’ sign.

I wouldn’t say people are my strongest skill, but they are still fun. Maybe I’ll pull out the other lil’ frames I have stored away and doodle a few more this summer.
