Stickers 🤝🏻 keeping toddlers busy

Otis got 1,440 stickers for Christmas 🤯 and his own little sticker book. The stickers might just be 1-inch circles in eight colors, but he thinks they are the coolest. They came in clutch on the airplane during holiday travels, and we stick a sheet in his customized book almost every day at home. If you are looking for an easy toddler activity (that also helps teach colors 🤓), I highly recommend this option. It’s inexpensive and cute.

I just used a notebook I had, but any will do. Then, I lettered on the front, which is also unnecessary, but it’s me, so I obviously did.

Have you tried this? Do your kids love stickers? It’s a great way to keep them away from the “good stickers.” 😜

How to organize allllll the art 🖼️🤪

If your child is anything like mine, they are constantly bringing home papers from school and creating their own masterpieces at home. Now, what do you do with all of it?! We finally decided on a system that isn’t dramatic for her — throwing everything straight in the trash 😬 — but also allows us to not keep everything forever.

1️⃣ We ooh and aah over the new worksheet, painting, etc., with her. Who doesn’t love to hear how great they are?

2️⃣ We pen the date onto the back of the sheet and place it in a magazine file holder. That way we know when she made it for easy sorting later, and we have a place for things as they come in.

3️⃣ After a year (or whenever you run out of magazine file holder space), sort through the papers. Keep your favorites and recycle/trash the rest. Once there has been some time between creation and trash, we found our daughter didn’t mind as much and she had fun going through the pile with us.

4️⃣ Buy your organizing supplies. We used 1.5-inch binders to hold everything, but you can save more or less, and buy a binder that fits what you’re keeping. You’ll also need a three-hole punch and a paper cutter to trim larger pieces.

5️⃣ Sort the papers into binders and order them. We organized by year, which because her birthday is in July, also aligns pretty well with the school years.

6️⃣ Punch holes and add papers to the binders. If you have any odd-shaped items, you can slip them in the sleeves at the front of the binder. We really liked that the binders I got at Target had two sleeves in the front. We used one for larger items and one for smaller drawings.

7️⃣ Label your binders. You can just write on them, or write on paper and slip them into the covers. I opted to design little cover pages with photos of her from that year.

It feels so good to have the papers under control. I don’t know why it took us so long to actually get them in binders. Now she can look at her work without making a huge mess of papers everywhere, and we have a little binder of memories up on the shelf.

I can’t believe it, but Otis is already 1! We celebrated his birthday with presents, cake, blueberries, and of course, a diy party hat. They have become tradition around here. 🥳 I cut it out, lettered and doodled on it, and glued it all together. I’m pretty proud of my little berry doodles. 🫐☺️ I’ve kept all of Agnes’ over the years, so we’ll add his to the stack.

We officially have a kindergartener! 🥺

It feels like we just ended the school year, but we’re back at it already. Agnes was excited to be back at school, so that made the milestone easier. No fears or tears. Just a wave and on she went playing with her classmates. I’m not sure how we raised such a social child, but it makes these moments easier.

Of course, I had to mark the occasion with some art. I used my @loddiedoddieco chalk markers (from the @letteringbykaren set) to make her this lil’ sign.
