Day 31 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I DID IT! I made it all the way to the end of the challenge and have 31 fun frighteningly fun envelopes to show for it. Thank you so much to Paper Source for sending me so many fun envelopes, the dark @posca_usa set and the envelope template. You can find everything I used this month linked in my bio. Plus, watch for a recap post soon. I might even giveaway some of the unclaimed/named envelopes. 👀

Back to this cutie though. The last envelope in this series was a special treat because I got to use my new Kuru Toga Dive mechanical pencil to sketch my vampire design. The scary good thing about this mechanical pencil is that automatically pushes out pencil lead for you. 🤯 It took me about 4 minutes to sketch my initial envelope design, and I didn’t have to *click* this mechanical pencil once. It truly lets you “dive” into your work, hence the name Kuru Toga Dive. Get ready to see more of it on my feed because I’m in love.

I also love that it comes in this Aurora Purple color. It’s like a dark iridescent purple barrel with black and silver highlights. Obviously my color palette. Day 27 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I got out some sparkly @sakuraofamerica gel pens and used my small denomination stamps to create a lil’ fairy garden.

I rarely use non-Forever stamps because you have to do math 😵‍💫 but I made an exception today and went a bit over just because I wanted to spread out the 10 cent stamp a little bit across the design.

Day 25 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I’ve got a little apple orchard — and a few worms. I’ve really loved working on these Paper Bag envelopes from @papersource. They are basically a Kraft envelope but not quite as porous so my markers and pens don’t soak in or catch on the paper.

Day 25 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I could think was Taylor Swift’s Folklore album. So, I listened to it while drawing a little forest and a tiny Taylor. I think “the 1” might be my fave on the album, but I could be convinced of any song, honestly. This is one of my go-to albums to play while I need to get work done. It’s focus music for me. Do you have a fave on the album?

Ogre 💚

Day 19 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I took a field trip and created this envelope while I was there. @strengerstudio celebrated two years and have a fun Friday night, and I popped into check it out. I’ve heard great things, but have never made it down. If you need calligraphy or lettering supplies, or you just like to look at them, go check out this studio. They also have classes and workshops, and when I have extra time on my hands, I’d love to go in the future.

I tried out some supplies, and it inspired me to go find my calligraphy supplies out in the garage. Watch for that in the future! But for now, I used some super nice @fabercastellusa pencils to create my cute little ogres for today’s prompt. Thanks for letting me hang, @strengerstudio!

Celestial 🌟

Day 18 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I used fun metallic pens and markers. I used the @karinmarkers metallic brush markers for the celestial shapes, and then came in with @uniballco gel impact pens for the outlines, faces and accents. In person, I promise you can see the cute little moon face, but the metallic markers make it tricky to photograph. This Paper Source envelope has some texture to it too, which made for a fun effect, especially on the moon. Do you have any fave metallic pens or markers I should try? I love these, and definitely should use them more. They usually come out around the holidays.

Day 15 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and Neville is here trying to get Trevor to come down from the top of the envelope. 😅 I decided against a bunch of toad all over the envelope, so it didn’t look like it was raining toads. Day 12 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and I loved the chance to use my @loddiedoddieco pastel chalk markers. Don’t be fooled by the word chalk. They work wonderfully on paper, too. I also wouldn’t call myself a goth expert, so I did my best, which ended up maybe more pastel Halloween vibes, but I love it, and that’s all that matters. Twilight 🌅

Day 9 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes had me stuck, to be honest. I ended up going with an ombre lettering and envelope flap, and I actually really like it. It’s not too simple on the front, and the back is dramatic.

I was also super impressed by this Paper Source envelope. It held up to all the layers of marker. Those @stabilousa brush pens are pretty juicy, so that was no easy feat.

Groovy Ghosts 👻🌼

@papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes begins today. Are you joining? It’s never too late to start creating boo-tiful envelopes!

For today’s spooky cute envelope, I used this luxurious Paper Source black envelope and my new @posca_usa dark colors set to doodle flower-crowned ghosts. Keisha inspired me years ago to create flower crowns on doodles, so obviously had to send this her way (act surprised!).

This was my first time using the paint pens on dark envelopes, and they are smooth but don’t completely cover in one pass. For these, I liked the ghostly look of the white paint pen on the black paper, so I didn’t give them a second coat. I’m excited to try these pens on more paper colors and layer them up to see how they look.

Day 4 of @papersource’s 31 Days of Bewitching Envelopes, and here is an envelope template in action. Super easy and it let me use this fun striped paper. Also pretty forgiving because accuracy is not really my crafting style. 😅 After I made it, I realized I probably should have made the lines horizontal so I could write in them. So … we improvised and added a black cat to write on instead. Happy accident. 😜
