Time for our annual road trip to Disney World! I’ll be recapping here but plan to do a big blog post about it, too, as this is our 3rd year doing it & hopefully we’ve learned enough to share 😊 Day 1: Philadelphia -> The Umstead, Cary, NC
We packed the car the car after breakfast & were on the road by 9:30am! We did hit some traffic in a few spots so it took us closer to 9 hours rather than the 7 it should have. We stopped for lunch in VA (pre-made pb&j’s) & maybe only once more & got to the Umstead around 5:30. It feels really nice to have a destination after such a long drive & we love it there (this was our 3rd stay!). We ate dinner outside on their beautiful veranda & then went back to our room where we ordered dessert & lounged in bed before enjoying a very comfortable night’s sleep 💤

Day 2: Cary, NC -> The Alida, Savannah, GA
We took a little longer to leave The Umstead because we had breakfast outside (the açaí bowl is delicious!) & drank our coffee leisurely but we got on the road around 10:30ish. We got to Savannah around 3:30pm or so & also hit more traffic than expected. We checked into the Alida & then walked to the closet Dot stop (Savannah’s free trolley service) & took it to Forsyth Park. It was beautiful… & really hot! We ended up heading back & getting pizza at Graffiti Pizza & then got gelato at District Gelato before heading back, showering, & settling in to relax for the night.

Easily the most worn dress in my closet. I have it in 2 colors & am considering a 3rd! It’s made of organic cotton & works for everything from running errands (wear with sneakers) to brunch (add a cute bag & sandals) to a night out (add a platform or wedge plus a bold lip)!

Day 4: Pool Day at the Wilderness Lodge!
We let the kids (including Joe 😉) sleep in today- everyone needed it! I walked down to get coffee by myself (which was so nice) around 7:30 & everyone was still asleep! Finally, we went to get breakfast a little after 9 at the Roaring Fork- Mickey waffles for the win- & then picked out our spot at the pool. We swam until almost 1 & then grabbed lunch at Geyser Point before taking a break for crafts & heading back to the room to rest & shower for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We all love the water taxi & since the weather was nice, we took that to the MK & then the GF. On the way back, after shopping at the gift shop, we took the monorail to the MK & the water taxi back to the WL where our captain (Rusty) told us he was in 2 Pirates of the Caribbean movies! We ended the night with Moana, foosball, & fireworks & then the kids fell asleep pretty much upon landing in bed (while we packed for the MK)! #disneywithkids #disneyworldtips #disneyswildernesslodge

One more from our dinner at the Grand Floridian 🌴 Also, I love sharing all the Disney tips & favorites we’ve found along the way but using @marykatevacations has been incredible for us! She knows SO much about Disney & is beyond helpful & has made our last two trips super fun & seamless! I highly recommend her (& follow her on IG more more frequent Disney trips & fun info!)!

Day 9: Orlando -> The Umstead, Cary, NC
We were SO sad to see our @waltdisneyworld vacation & our stay at #disneyswildernesslodge come to an end! We learned early on in our road trip experience that it helps to have something (a destination) to look forward to (specifically a nice hotel with a restaurant) so we booked another room @theumstead & ordered room service for dinner & we were all v e r y happy 😊 This was our 4th time driving to & from Florida & our kids actually do really well in the car. We don’t do a lot of screen time on the drive because Joseph gets carsick so we do little “gifts” every couple of hours instead & they get really excited about them! I’m planning on putting together separate blog posts for the road trip part & Disney- I’ll be sure to share when I do! #waltdisneyworld #roadtripwithkids #drivingtodisney #traveloutfits

None of us are ready for the (long) weekend to be over 😭 We had such a good one! We spent time with my in-laws at their house on the Chesapeake, had a party for my brother who is moving, enjoyed some time in our pool with some of our favorites, & had some time with Joe while the kids slept at my mom’s 💕Here’s to starting the week on Tuesday, though! After school activities start today… wish us luck 😉

This is my first time wearing this tank nightgown & I will be living in it for the foreseeable future.
