Day 8: St. Augustine

It was a slow & rainy morning so we took our time & ate breakfast & lunch at the house. We headed back into St. Augustine in the afternoon to tour the Colonial Quarter (the kids loved it!) & walked around a little more before ending up at a Mexican restaurant for dinner.

I just really love going anywhere with them 🩷 I’ve been really slacking on finishing up our trip itinerary (I don’t like to post until we’re home!) so here’s Day 7:

We had another slow morning before heading over to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm & Zoological Park. It was really awesome & had so much more than I expected! Then we drove to the St. Augustine Lighthouse just to check it out- we decided not to go in. From there we went to the Conch Marina for lunch right on the water & it was delicious! Joe’s parents cooked us dinner at home & it was just a really nice night. I could have used another day like this!

Spring Break 24

I just bought this serum infused lash tint and I love it! It’s EWG verified so you know it’s clean & the ingredients are safe and I like that it conditions my lashes while I’m wearing it! It’s great for when you want something a little extra but don’t really want to wear makeup

Day 9: Orlando -> The Umstead, Cary, NC
We were SO sad to see our @waltdisneyworld vacation & our stay at #disneyswildernesslodge come to an end! We learned early on in our road trip experience that it helps to have something (a destination) to look forward to (specifically a nice hotel with a restaurant) so we booked another room @theumstead & ordered room service for dinner & we were all v e r y happy 😊 This was our 4th time driving to & from Florida & our kids actually do really well in the car. We don’t do a lot of screen time on the drive because Joseph gets carsick so we do little “gifts” every couple of hours instead & they get really excited about them! I’m planning on putting together separate blog posts for the road trip part & Disney- I’ll be sure to share when I do! #waltdisneyworld #roadtripwithkids #drivingtodisney #traveloutfits

Day 7: Animal Kingdom! This was our 3rd & final character breakfast at Tusker House with Mickey & friends & my kids love it (this was our 3rd time doing it)! It’s also right next to the safari ride so it’s nice to start there & walk right over after breakfast. We did the Gorilla Falls trail for the first time this time, too, & it was a really cool experience. The kids watched the Magic of Animal Kingdom before we went & they loved seeing the animals (especially the gorillas) in person & finding out who was who. We did a few more rides plus played a few games in DinoLand & then headed back to the hotel where we played in the arcade, had dinner at The Whispering Canyon Cafe, & then caught a rainbow & a night swim before watching the light show from our balcony.

Family Photos 2023 ❤️🍁😊 I love how these colors came together for these photos! Here’s a few tips if you’re planning your next family photo shoot, too! 1. Pick your standout piece (or color palette) & work around that- I picked my dress first! 2. Add texture- I picked Amelia’s dress second (it was actually her Christmas dress from last year & I love the unexpected feel the tulle gives to our otherwise rustic setting. Mixing textures for photos always comes out beautifully! 3. Try to stick to 1 print or pattern (unless the second print is a subtle one!). 4. Don’t be afraid to wear color! You don’t have to wear only neutrals to get great photos! The key is to coordinate your outfits, not match them!

Time for our annual road trip to Disney World! I’ll be recapping here but plan to do a big blog post about it, too, as this is our 3rd year doing it & hopefully we’ve learned enough to share 😊 Day 1: Philadelphia -> The Umstead, Cary, NC
We packed the car the car after breakfast & were on the road by 9:30am! We did hit some traffic in a few spots so it took us closer to 9 hours rather than the 7 it should have. We stopped for lunch in VA (pre-made pb&j’s) & maybe only once more & got to the Umstead around 5:30. It feels really nice to have a destination after such a long drive & we love it there (this was our 3rd stay!). We ate dinner outside on their beautiful veranda & then went back to our room where we ordered dessert & lounged in bed before enjoying a very comfortable night’s sleep 💤

Zodiac Lucky Colors 2024: Sagittarius 🌀Indigo is such a pretty year round color! The deep blue-purple shade looks really stunning paired with white but looks equally good when used as a neutral. This maxi dress would be beautiful for spring. I love these block print waste baskets & tissue box covers & have them all over my house. Also, the lapis heart charm would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Santa! What we did for a quick 24 hours in Stone Harbor, NJ during the off season…

Pack the car & put on Christmas music (& put on a movie for the kids!). Stop at the beach to collect shells & listen to the waves 🌊. Check into @thereedssh & take a walk to @thewateringhull for lunch. Stop in a few shops on your walk back & then head to the dock to see the huge Christmas tree & watch the sun set over the bay. Order room service while watching Christmas movies by the fire for dinner & dessert. Wake up & either go for coffee & breakfast @coffee_talk_stone_harbor or head to Saks at the hotel while the bellman packs your car. Check out & head home (or stop at the @wetlandsinstitute for a bit before the drive)!
