Recovering from multiple travel days over here but I bought this dress on sale months ago & finally got to wear it to a good friend’s birthday party a couple of weeks ago! It’s @farmrio & I not only love their pieces but they’re also a B Corp!

We’re finally almost home from our trip & it was one of the most fun vacations we’ve taken yet! We were on the go most of the time so I’m just finally getting around to recapping it 🩷 Day 1:
We left around 10am last Wednesday & it was cloudy & rainy for most of the drive but not too bad! We got to Cary in time to order room service for dinner from one of our favorite hotels, The Umstead. We were keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Debbie so it felt good to be in a place where we were already comfortable!

Day 2 of our trip was driving from Cary, NC to Savannah, GA & got a little thrown off because of 🌀 Debbie. We ate breakfast at The Umstead (I can’t say enough good things about their açaí bowl!) & then had to wait out a tornado watch & a flash flood warning. Luckily, we left in a pocket of not terrible weather & missed any severe storms. When we got to Savannah, it was hot & sunny so we quickly checked into The Alida & walked to The Pirate House for dinner 🏴‍☠️ It was pretty late so we didn’t have time for much else this time but it was a fun stop! We ordered our typical room service for breakfast the next day before getting back in the car to drive to Disney!

I recently visited @lululemon for the first time & while I still haven’t figured out my size in their leggings 🤪, I did find these super flattering, high waisted, lightweight shorts! I wore them with a striped sweater today & sneakers & plan on wearing them well into fall

Day 4- We woke up & had a slow morning opening the kids’ first souvenirs & drinking our coffee looking out onto the pool from our balcony. We ate a quick breakfast at the hotel & then my Aunt arrived 😁! We swam for most of the day & then, around 3, we headed back to get showers, get dressed, & then take the bus (& boat) to the Boardwalk. We had dinner at Trattoria Al Forno, which was delicious (the lasagna, chicken parm, & gnocchi were so good!), watched a jump rope show, got ice cream, & took a Minnie Van back to the hotel. It was a good day!

Day 5- We had another really nice slow morning at the hotel before getting breakfast and going to the pool. There’s 2 pools at the Wilderness Lodge & A & I went back & forth but J likes to stay where the water slide is or to play foosball & ping pong. We had a little extra time before our dinner reservation so we stopped at the arcade (J’s other favorite place 😂). Then we took to boat to the Magic Kingdom & the monorail to the Grand Floridian where we had our traditional night at the GF Cafe & it was really good!

Day 10- FL - Kiawah Island
We decided to take a detour on the way home & instead of heading back through Cary, we stopped in Kiawah Island, SC. It was beautiful! We stayed at The Sanctuary & I cannot recommend it enough. I think it’s the most gorgeous place I’ve stayed yet. We checked in, got changed & went to the pool so the kids could swim while Joe & I ordered dinner. Then we ate by the pool, caught the sunset on the beach, & ordered room service for dessert! The next morning we took our coffee to the beach & got breakfast sandwiches to go!

Finally! The final leg of our trip, days 11 & 12 :) We drove from Kiawah, SC to Williamsburg, VA & stayed at The Williamsburg Inn @colonialwmsburg. We got there late on Saturday night so we decided we wanted to do something fun before we went home on Sunday. We walked around the hotel (it’s beautiful), stopped in the pro shop at the golf course, & had breakfast at the Inn (delicious!) before walking through colonial Williamsburg. We had time to do one thing so we picked a tour of the Peyton Randolph House (highly recommend) 🇺🇸

🌊 Ordinary days are my favorite kind & we have not had one since before school let out… here’s to next week!

I don’t know about you but I am nowhere near ready for July to be over! Being home with these two is my favorite thing ever… even when I’m yelling at them to listen or stop fighting half the time 😂 I read somewhere that people always think moms need a break from their kids but really what they (we) want is a break from the multitasking & the mental load of being a mom & running the house (& everything else)… we just want to ENJOY our kids without all of the responsibilities… & I feel that. I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m always doing something whether it be a chore in the house, working on my blog, running errands, sending an email, making a meal, taking a call, etc., etc., & even though I put so much pressure on myself to be present, I really struggle with it & feel like time is just going so fast & there’s just not enough of it. All that to say I don’t have the answers but if you’re feeling this way, too, you’re not alone 🩷
