Days 1 & 2: Home-> Cary, NC
This is our 5th year in a row making the drive to Orlando, FL & though we switch it up a bit every year, we’ve got a pretty good routine down. The first day we left around 10am & despite 7+ hours in the car on a rainy day, everyone did great! We got to the Umstead & ordered room service for dinner before relaxing in bed & watching tv.

NC -> Amelia Island, FL
We got up, went to breakfast, & hit the road by 9:45am. It was a great drive, actually, (we grabbed lunch at Buccees) until the last 20 minutes when someone rear ended us enough to total their car & take off our bumper. Luckily, everyone was fine, the police were wonderful, & we were still able to drive our car to Disney! We stayed at the Omni & it was so pretty, very family friendly, & had an incredible location on the ocean! There’s a lot to do here & the breakfast buffet at Flora Belle’s was one of the best we’ve had!

We recently took a road trip to Orlando, Florida from Philadelphia & we stopped one night in Cary, NC & one night in Amelia Island, FL. We stayed at the Omni & it was so night to be right on the beach. There was a beautiful pool, too! These striped cotton poplin pants were perfect for a night on the beach & to grab a quick dinner… cute & comfortable!
