Spring Break Day 1: Home -> NC One of our favorite stops on our drive to Florida is The Umstead. We’ve found (through trial & error) a few road trip tips that work for us & the number one is it’s really helpful to have a destination to look forward to on our drives. The Umstead is definitely one of those places. The second is we don’t like to drive at night & third is that it makes it a lot more enjoyable if the hotel we’re staying at has a restaurant (preferably room service!). We got to The Umstead around 5:30, checked into our room, & ordered room service for dinner (so nice after being in the car all day!)! Then we just relaxed & all enjoyed a good night’s sleep. It was a good first day!
