Some of our favorite rooms are built around the pieces that were already there. 🤎 For the family den at this renovation project, every design decision began with restoration. We carefully stripped and refinished the original window trim and shutters, rescued an 1800s fireplace and relocated it from the parlor to become the heart of this new gathering space, and wrapped the room in a vibrant blue that celebrates the home’s historic character while making it feel fresh for the next generation. When it came time to furnish the space, the new Pierce and Ward collection for West Elm felt like the perfect final layer. Every piece has the warmth, soul, and collected quality we gravitate toward, adding comfort without competing with the history of the home. ✨
