I know from personal experience that shelves are often the last thing to be styled. Bookcases, consoles, and floating shelves can be soo intimidating, but they don’t have to be! Here’s how I approach styling to get the perfect look every time! 1. Buy more than what you need - It’s all about curating, not overcrowding! HomeGoods, TheLifestyledCo, and Flamingo Rodeo (a local fave!) are my go-to’s for finding the perfect pieces for me and my clients. 2. Group in odd numbers - I swear it’s the secret to effortless styling! For example, on the top shelf, I have 3 wine bottles, a vase, and a small bow, creating a group of 5. The bottom shelf has 3 groupings: red wine glasses, some Avaline wine, and coupe glasses. 3. Vary your heights - Create balance by pairing tall pieces with shorter ones, and mirror your heights across shelves. 4. Layer - If your shelves are feeling flat, add some depth by placing a frame behind a shallow bowl or add some fresh flowers. (Trader Joe’s is always the best for this!)
