Less is more.
I’ve changed my buying habits drastically since moving to Vietnam.
First of, it’s harder to find clothing to my liking. Second, international brands are heavily taxed so imports so they’re more expensive. Third, my wardrobe is already bursting at the seams (see what I did there ;).
It’s one in, one out principle: I buy an item, I get rid of an item usually through re-sale or donation.
I used to indulge in sale hauls but now prefer investing in versatile, easy-to-style items that stand the test of time. I do still love a good sale, just reigning in that impulse buying 😋

There are quite a lot of tourists that come through SE Asia and sometimes I encounter female solo travelers. I always admire their spirit and courage to go off exploring on their own. I like the idea in theory but know for certain that I would get lonely very quickly. Sure, you meet people while traveling and I’m pretty outgoing but it’s not for me. I like having someone to share the experiences with and honestly, I can get so lazy on holiday I need someone to push me to go out and do things. Otherwise I’d be lounging by the pool with a book sipping martinis all day lol!

Back from our quick trip to Malaysia and unfortunately in bed recovering from food poisoning. Other than that it was great to go back to Penang after 10 years and see all the development and modernization. We pigged out on delicious Malay, Indian and Chinese fare and somewhere along the way I must’ve eaten something my tummy wasn’t keen on. At least it happened on the last day, not the first!
