May 13th.
Wandering around Essex and checking out @noahs63main in anticipation of my sister’s bridal shower. The peach salad was delicious. Why we didn’t choose that to have at the shower is one (of a few) regrets of the day.

Pulled out my Calypso St Barth printed leather jacket that hadn’t seen the light of day in quite a few years. It’s fabulous and deserves to be worn more, but it’s a statement piece and leather jacket season is short.

Other than the belt which is new from tjmaxx (looked like a sezane dupe for $30) everything else is thrifted.

Leather jacket season in Connecticut is nearly as short as blossom season - especially in that I’m posting these photos and both times have passed. While the past few weeks have been a weather rollercoaster, creeping up into the 80°s only to then plummet to the 50°s, it would appear the days of denim and extra layers are coming to an end.

I’ve heard rumors the town is going to tear down the elementary school behind me, the school I attended, a beautiful, historic building… because nothing is worth preserving in this country. What will become of these cherry blossom trees? Hopefully this won’t be the last year I get to take photos here.

Because it’s been far too long since I’ve worn this linen leopard coat, and I thrifted this fabulous green Paloma Picasso bag at the start of winter and it’s been waiting patiently for spring.

Jeans are new from Loft, after trying and failing to find secondhand cream jeans that fit and weren’t stained I gave in and got these. I ordered 4 petite (what I consider to be my usual size) and they fit perfectly, which is a surprise because you never know with Loft.

Flower photos will continue for as long as I can sustain and the weather cooperates.

Always my favorite time of year, and this year Mother Nature decided to turn the temperature up to 80° (supposedly will be back to 60° tomorrow, but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts).

A very merry thriftmas to me!

After lots of fruitless searches for “brown scarf” on @thredup (500+ results) I somehow managed to find the missing scarf to my coat! It was only $8.

Don’t ask me how I managed to sift through all those listings and notice the one scarf that had a button hole, the key to my search. This was months after I bought the coat too.

So the coat is now complete and might I say, completely fabulous.

After briefly toying with the idea of waking up at 4:00 a.m. to try and get a Starbucks bear tumbler, I realized I didn’t have that in me and would have to deal with missing out.

But the thrift gods granted me an adorable vintage bear, which I immediately washed and brought to Starbucks. The baristas all loved it.
