Lighting is one of the tew design choices that can completely transtorm a room... or quietly work against it.
After walking through hundreds of homes, we've noticed the same lighting mistakes showing up again and again. The surprising part?
Most of them have nothing to do with your budget and everything to do with thoughtful planning.
The right lighting doesn't just help you see a space, it creates atmosphere, highlights architectural details, and changes the way a home feels from the moment you walk in.
In today's post, we're sharing the most common lighting mistakes we see (and how to avoid them) so your home feels intentionally designed instead of simply well-decorated.

Design isn't just about what you choose. It's about choosing it well.

THE COVELLE & CO. COLLECTION: HEIRLOOM CHIC 🕯️

The kind of room that looks like it took generations to collect but still feels completely at home in the present.

This week’s Covelle & Co. Collection is all about Heirloom Chic: timeless silhouettes, storied details, rich woods, beautiful florals + pieces that feel like they could have been passed down, discovered on a trip, or found in the perfect little antique shop.

We’re pairing a statement West Elm chandelier with a beautiful piece of art, curated Pottery Barn stacked books, a Soho cabinet + sculptural CB2 florals to create a look that feels layered, sophisticated and effortlessly collected.

Because a beautiful home shouldn’t feel like you bought the whole room at once.

It should feel like you, a mix of old + new, polished + imperfect, meaningful + unexpected.

Save this collection for your next room refresh + tell us which piece you’d build the room around.

✨ THE COVELLE & CO. COLLECTION: GILDED GLAMOUR ✨

A little gold. A little drama. A whole lot of timeless glamour.

This week’s Covelle & Co. Collection is all about Gilded Glamour, ornate details, warm metallics, sculptural silhouettes + collected pieces that make a room feel layered, luxurious and anything but ordinary.

We’re mixing a statement chandelier from Lamps Plus with beautiful Pottery Barn side chairs, art + a sculptural coffee table bowl, then bringing in a touch of life with an Anthropologie plant.

Because the best rooms aren’t designed from one store or one collection. They’re curated piece by piece until everything feels like it was meant to live together.

Soft, sculptural, and proof that neutral never has to mean boring.

The Ivory Edit is all about warm creams, touches of gold, beautiful texture, and pieces that feel collected rather than overly styled.

This week, we’re loving:
✨ A sculptural Serena & Lily chandelier
✨ Chic Crate & Barrel candles
✨ The effortlessly cool House of Leon desk
✨ A West Elm painting that brings just the right amount of drama

It’s that mix we’re always chasing, timeless enough to live with, interesting enough to make you stop and look twice.

Because whether we’re designing a room, preparing a home for market, or simply finding the piece that pulls everything together, we believe the details matter.

Design. Build. Sell. It’s all part of how we see home.

LTK of the Day

What if your home had a little Hogwarts energy… but make it luxury. 🖤✨

This month’s #DesignsByErica Style Guide is giving modern wizardry—moody black foundations, glimmers of gold, and just enough drama to feel like you’re dining in the Great Hall (minus the floating candles… unless you want them 😉).

It’s bold. It’s cinematic. It’s powerful.
And no, black and gold isn’t a trend—it’s a legacy move.

These are the kinds of interiors that feel like they belong at Universal’s Wizarding World… immersive, elevated, and impossible to forget. The kind of design that casts a spell on buyers before the first showing even begins.

At Covelle & Co., we don’t just make spaces look magical.
We Design with strategy.
We Build with intention.
We Sell with precision.

Because when it’s done right, great design doesn’t just enchant—it increases value.

Ready to embrace your dark side (the luxe one)?

2026: The Year of the Horse. 🐎✨

We’re walking into this next chapter the same way we design and build our spaces — head held high, grounded in confidence, and unapologetically elevated.

The black horse isn’t just art.
It’s a symbol of prestige, power, and forward momentum — exactly how we’re approaching 2026. Strong lines. Quiet luxury. No hesitation.

Layered with:
– A chocolate brown velvet chair that invites you to sit comfortably in your success
– A leather martini table that whispers old-world sophistication
– And a luxurious marble lamp (because Kathy Kuo truly understands specs that matter 🤍)

This is the energy:
🐎 Bold but refined
🐎 Timeless, not trendy
🐎 Confident without needing to shout

At Covelle & Co., we don’t just design spaces —
we design lives, then build them, then sell them well.

As we head into 2026, expect intention, excellence, and a whole lot of elevated living.

👉 Save this for your 2026 mood board.
👉 Share it with someone stepping into their power next year.
👉 And if you’re ready to design, build, or sell with confidence — you already know where to find us.

Style Guide

Luxury isn't about the price tag. It's about knowing where to spend... and where to save.

This month's Looks for Less proves that perfectly. A sleek black bedroom pendant for $149 delivers the same dramatic, designer-inspired look as one priced at $990—leaving you with over $800 to invest in the pieces that truly transform a space.

At Covelle & Company, we're all about designing smarter, not just spending more. Because a beautifully curated home comes from thoughtful choices, not endless budgets.

✨ Which one would you choose if we didn't tell you the price?

Save this post for your next bedroom refresh, send it to someone who loves designer style for less, and follow along for next month's Looks for Less.
