the best Khaite Scarlet Cardigan Dupe!

there are so many dupes to that cardigan but this is the best because they're 100% thick merino wool unlike most which are synthetic blends. the thickness gives it a more structured look + feel.

so soft + comfy that i bought three: the black, grey and dark brown. i'm wearing the small. for reference im 5'1" size 0.

one note, since this video was made the price has gone up but they're still worth every penny!

ugh - this apps crops the videos and took my head out 😬

(these videos are from a longer try on video i did on IG awhile back)
while i love designer clothing, it's not always necessary. if you know your lifestyle + desired look you can easily do a mix of high + low pieces.

the top is gap kids linen relaxed shirt in a size 14. the jeans are classic levi's wedgie straight leg size 24 x 26 for a slight cropped look.

for reference i am 5' 1" size 0 / xs.

for button ups, i prefer either opening most or closing all buttons - it gives a more elevated, intentional chic look.

styling note: my steamer just broke so i couldn't steam this before showing you, know that it would be perfectly steamed before wearing 🫣

a simple white shirt doesn't have to look simple. use my tucking method to update what you already have in your closet.

i recently got this cotton oxford shirt from gap kids (on sale for $31). i'm wearing a 14, the 12 fit but i like how this has a roomier fit. for reference i'm 5'1" size 0 / xs.

and please forgive me for not changing my bra for this video! i only ever wear white bras under a white shirt.

a few of my favorite things:

you can't have enough lamps. i love my concrete dimmable lamp, my comfy swivel chair and my sonos which i bet you didn't even see! i'm using it as a bookend . . .

you can't have too many lamps. i love using them within shelving units like i have here on my vitsoe shelving.

the metal plates swivel and you can turn the black ones all the way around so it's all ivory.

i hate having a ton of stuff in general (and not just because i live in a 335 sqft studio apt) but i love handbags, especially my mini ones.

i'm using these linen drop-front storage boxes that are actually for sweaters! they're extra deep so there's room in the back for other small accessories or delicates. the soft linen box is easy to clean (i vacuum it) and soft to use as an added shelf for folded sweaters.

the front closes well enough that dust doesn't get through unlike acrylic boxes made especially for bags.

after years of stressed out, dried and frizzy hair, i finally found the right products!

the wow dream coat (first product) is so good i only use it a couple times a month, not after each shampoo. when i feel my hair is getting a bit sad looking, i use it after washing + before blow drying.

i've had so much hair shedding the past couple of years (covid? stress? menopause?) and the nutroful serum has been a miracle with stopping it. i use it once a day at night (so i don't forget). i don't feel it's greasey or heavy. i only use 1 dropper full on my whole head.

make the most out of your medicine cabinet with simple acrylic accessories. basically invisible, they add storage without the visual clutter.

3" x 6" risers give you double height for smaller products. 3" x 3" and 3" x 6" drawer divider bins help contain small items making them accessible without spilling out everytime you grab something.

my favorite beauty products beyond just cleansing + moisturizing.

i use the clay bar after every shower. it gives a deeper clean to reduce blackheads.

i use the microdermabrasion twice a month. i use it in my face, neck, chest, and hands for the smoothest skin.

apa lip scrub is so delicious - the only scrub i've ever used and probably ever will.

every organizer says you should have matching hangers. i agree in theory but not in execution. i have 4 different types in my dressing area and they're not the dreaded slim felt hangers.

i know many of you love felt hangers and that's fine, don't come for me, and while i have many clients who use them, they're not for me. i've also noticed people with mostly cotton tops generally don't like them either because with the felt causes friction and it can be hard to get your shirt on the hanger nicely.

and yes, the padded canvas take up more room but my clothes love them. and they're way prettier than the felt šŸ¤

a detail you might not notice, the reason all these hangers look nice together is the neck of the hangers are all the same which gives the illusion they're all the same hanger as not to add any visual clutter.

the three things that helped make the most of this small walk in closet.

first: acrylic hooks hung with nano tape. i love these hooks for necklaces + bracelets. using nano tape makes 'installing' so easy as there's no hardware. i'll warn you the tape that comes with these isn't great, so i include the tape i use. be sure to wipe the walls downs beforehand. measure out where you need them based on what you're hanging and use a level to make it perfect!

second: wood pant hangers. matching hangers keeps everything at the same level making seeing what you have easier. i organized the pants by type + color.

third: acrylic sorters for small bags. not can you see what you have, but not having the bags touching eachother protects them.

i'd rather spend money on what's hanging in my closet, then spend on the closet itself. when i moved into this tiny studio, i knew this spot in the alcove would be perfect for a dressing area. the last thing i wanted was to to add huge cabinets anywhere. being naturally neat, i knew i could keep this looking great so no doors or curtain was needed.

starting from the top:
- ikea open wood bins ikea circa 2005

- upper shelf, rod and shelf/rod brackets from home depot

- lower thick white shelving ikea 'lack' series

the whole thing was less than $300 and since i had the lower two shelves with cubbies at the time i moved in it was maybe $100 total. the ikea shelves are just placed in and stacked, they're not actually attached to the wall.

the most expensive things are the the container store drop front boxes which house small bags and a few delicate articles of clothing.

i invested in hangers 10 years before this so i've had my hangers for over 20 years!
