I LOVE Betty Boop!!!

For the past 36 hours I’ve had a whirlwind trip to Manhattan and I had the pleasure of attending the Broadway Show “Boop! The Musical” at the Broadhurst Theatre👏

The show was phenomenal and @jasmine_amy_r was the absolute embodiment of Betty Boop and her performance brought the audience to a standing ovation mid show! What an amazing moment to witness from our fabulous orchestra seats!🌟 What an incredible send off to her first “Tony’s Awards” attendance last night.

Truly thrilled to have been able to get to see this show that just started in April. It has been a minute since I have attended a Broadway show and “Boop! The Musical’ was just perfect!

The Shock & Disbelief were Real!!!

Let this be a reminder that the scale can be a lier and not reflective of all the hard work and effort you are putting in when you are on a weightloss and health improvement journey. This is where the facts show up! In store… in bright lights… that are often unflattering.

Truthfully, I thought I was being silly trying on a “medium” dress in this store but in actuality it was still too big in the top and I had to go to a “small”🤔 Clearly, the math doesn’t make any sense but when I say I am really a size 6 it’s just that I have Lipedema that throws that all off isn’t too far fetched!

Ladies, when you are in a changing body that is dropping volume, please be sure to take in 3 sizes with you. The one you think you are and then the two below that. You will be amazed at what actually fits and will serve you better over the long run as you shift further in your journey.👏

Spoiler alert: This lilac is NOT my color. I bought it anyway in both a Small & Medium to show my husband. He was thrown off by the color not being right plus thought the small was the perfect size cause it fit on top without needing altering. I returned them both even though I thought it would be such a springy/summer color vibe for my bestie’s daughter’s wedding in NY in June cause on me, the color wasn’t quite right. But, wow, what a magical moment this was.💜

TWO WEEKS and counting!!!

YIKES! My son is graduating High School on May 31st and I need a dress!👗 If you know me, you know I like a matchy matchy moment. The school colors are Blue and Gold so I am looking for a summery feel with a blue theme.

This very feminine toile dress with sleeves or off the shoulder positioning is SO beautifully made.
Fully lined however this dress has no pockets. The length is wonderful and it falls beautifully from the smocked top. I would note that you can consider sizing down as there is ample fabric in the bottom. I am wearing a size Small for reference.

JOY in Self Care😃

If you have been here a minute, you know that I ABSOLUTELY Love a trip to the hair salon! The transformation for me is always palpable. Truthfully, when I walked in, I was frazzled. But, just the process of focusing on what I was there for and spending time with my stylist who has supported me for decades (even did my hair for my wedding 25 years ago) is such a blessing.

In a world that is so fast moving and everything is so disposable, I am consistently reenergized when i connect with the familiar. So, for me, this monthly appointment to get my hair refreshed by a professional I trust SO much and has been a constant through many life moments, this is not a luxury, it is a necessary moment of self care.

There have been two periods in my life where I didn't see @tobiasjmitchell monthly simply due to neccessity while I lived in Los Angeles, the first was probably for about a year before I had my gastric bypass and I was at my heighest weight, I could no longer fit into the chair in the commercial salon he managed. I was beside myself but luckily a friend at work had a stylist who owned her salon and had a regular sturdy chair without arms that she agreed to set out for me during that time. Her salon team was always welcoming and without a fuss moved the chair from the station to the sink and back to the station. The reality is that people are infused with goodness and you will be directed to the angels that are needed when the time comes. The second was during the pandemic for about 2 yrs and that was just brutal for so many reasons. I can assure you I was not full of joy or dancing around after my attempts at the refreshes...lol

Have you ever had to make a drastic change to accomodate your needs? Ever not fit into a chair?

[SO thankful I chose that life changing RNY gastric bypass bariatric surgery in 2003 cause I really love my monthly refreshes with Tobias🙏]
