The viral reel that really started it all for us, about a year ago! You too can get the White Oak look for less, using Select Pine + my favorite stain combo! We have used these exact materials time & time again, for multiple projects, to achieve the White Oak look I love! My go-to stain combo that works every time- One thing I do before even getting started on staining: sand the wood I’m working on. Sanding is a key step you do not want to miss, as it helps remove the yellow layer that is in a lot of woods. I start with 120/150 grit and then move to 220 so it gets nice & smooth! Once sanded, I apply Minwax Pre-Stain & wipe away any excess. This helps so the stain goes on evenly. After the allotted dry time, you need to lightly sand with 220 and then apply your 1st stain (Simply White) within an hour of applying the Pre-Stain. Leave for a few minutes & wipe off excess. Once dry, apply Minwax Provincial & wipe off pretty quickly, (unless you want a darker stain). Once dry, apply a sealer. I like to use Minwax Polycrylic because the wood doesn’t seem to yellow overtime, as it does with others. Once the 1st coat of your sealer is dry, lightly sand with 220 and apply a 2nd coat of sealer. ** I also have this all saved to a Highlight-Stain Combo if you want to see the exact products I’m using! fauxwhiteoak stainedpine woodwork ceilingdesign shiplapceiling @minwax Shiplap Tongue & groove Stain liketkit @liketk.it LTKHome
