Every now and then, I love to add a gripping thriller to my reading list. The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena was that book for me this summer.

It all starts at a dinner party… and from there, the mystery unfolds with layer upon layer of suspense. I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say: I was hooked!

While my usual reading list includes classics, cozy mysteries, historical fiction and nonfiction, I find that mixing in a few thrillers like this adds a bit of excitement to the rotation. It’s perfect for lounging by the pool, taking on vacation, or simply curling up with a cup of tea on a quiet afternoon. As a disclaimer, it does have some strong themes and language at times so please read the description before you try it out.
