MOM HACK MONDAY: COLOR CLOCK 🎨🕐🎉

This hack is a lifesaver for us over the summer! It helps my kids know what to expect for the day and keeps me saneeee! 😅🙌☀️

All you need is an analog clock and some Expo markers! ⏰🖍️👍

You can color code the minutes of an hour using your minute hand or color code your schedule per hour with the hour hand! (Like we did in the video!)

The best part about using the expo markers for this hack is that you can erase the colors and create a new schedule every day if you need to! 🤯🥳

MOM HACK MONDAY: TV TOKENS 📺🎉🙌

For all of the parents trying to reduce screen time this summer, here is a great hack! Make TV tokens to EARN screen time!

Here's the tokens we have for our system👇

1️⃣ Homework Token: This can be earned by working on our "Morning Menus" (see my "Summer Scholars" reel for info), working on homework from school, doing educational apps on our iPad, etc!
📚🧠🎓

2️⃣ Chore Token: This is earned by completing their daily/weekly chores! (Putting away dishes & laundry, making their beds, cleaning their rooms, etc!) 📃🧺🛏️✨

3️⃣ Love Token: This is earned when the kids are getting along really well, sharing, doing kind things for one another, etc. They can also earn this one out in public if they do something for someone else (hold the door for them, help them pick something up, etc.
💕🎉🙌

Now you might be asking, do they get any TV time outside of this? The answer is, sometimes! If we are doing a family movie night together, the kids don't have to earn that because it's family time!

But why have the kids EARN screen time?
Here are just a few reasons 👇👇

▪️Promotes Self-Regulation: Kids learn to manage their screen time responsibly, understanding that it is a reward rather than an entitlement. This helps in developing self-control and delayed gratification.

▪️Encourages Positive Behavior: By linking screen time to desirable behaviors or tasks, such as homework, chores, or physical activity, children are motivated to engage in these activities to earn their tokens. This reinforces positive habits and responsibility.

▪️Teaches Goal Setting: The token system helps children understand the concept of setting and achieving goals. They learn to plan and work towards earning their rewards.

▪️Balances Activities: It encourages a balance between screen time and other important activities like reading, playing outside, or family time, contributing to a well-rounded daily routine.

ABC TP Roll 🔤🧻✨🎉

This activity took me 10 seconds to make and kept my kids busy for the morning!

All you need is a TP roll, circle stickers, & a marker!

Write uppercase ABCS on the TP Roll & lowercase letters on the stickers for your kids to match! 👬

Have them place the lowercase sticker on top of the uppercase! 🔴👉🔤

You can also do this with sight words for older kids! Just write the same sight words on the TP Roll & the stickers for them to match!!

CURTAIN PAINTING 🎨🖌️🎉

If you’re looking for an easy set up activity that you can do over and over again this is it! 🙌

All you need is a cheap shower curtain and some paint! (I put our paint in a muffin tin!)

After your kids are done just wash the curtain, let it dry, and you can fold it up and save it for your next artistic activity! 👍🎉🙌

MOM HACK MONDAY: HATCH LIGHT

Okay this mom find has been my favoriteeeeee thus far. I didn’t discover it until after my first kiddo was over a year old and I wish I had had it when she was a newborn!

This Hatch Light is a night light/sound machine/routine builder all in one!

Here are some of my favorite features:
▪️I can control everything from my phone-no more sneaking into the kids bedroom because I forgot to turn on the night light 😅

▪️I can set timers/time to rise for my kids for quiet time, nap time, or a morning alarm ⏳⏲️

▪️ I can increase (or decrease) the brightness and sound whenever! Loud thunderstorm coming? No problem, I can turn the sound machine up! 🎉🙌

▪️The new generation has a digital clock to introduce time to your kiddos! ⏰👍

▪️It plugs into a wall so I’m not wasting money on batteries! 🤑💰

▪️ Small + lightweight enough I can pack it easily for family trips! ✔️🙌

I wish I’d known about this sooner but I’m so happy we have one now! 😅

HIDDEN MESSAGES 🔎🖍️✨

For todays activity we are revealing hidden messages! You can hide numbers, letters, pictures, or sight words for this activity!! It’s very adaptable!

Here’s what you need:
▪️red cellophane (or plastic red file folder)
▪️cereal box or cardboard box
▪️Glue stick
▪️blue and red sharpie
▪️paper

Steps for activity:
▪️trace a magnifying glass & cut out ✂️
▪️glue red cellophane paper inside magnifying glass
▪️draw pictures with the blue sharpie on a paper
▪️scribble red sharpie over blue images 🖍️
▪️use your magnifying glass to reveal the images! 🔎

My kids LOVE this activity all year round! Not only is it super easy to set up, it’s super versatile!

All you need is some paper, tape, shapes, and a marker! If you don’t have magnetiles, just use shapes from around your house and match them on a table or the floor! 🎉🫶🙌

To make this activity even more challenging you can have your kiddo match the shape AND the color!

These were your favorites for the month of March!!

We LOVE our snackle box. We take that thing everywhere (if you haven’t noticed from stories on IG 🤣)

We also take our pill organizer almost everywhere. It’s so convenient to have.

We use our paper roll multiple times a week! It’s a great thing to have for impromptu activities!

And last but not least—games! We play these games at least two to three times a week for our morning activities! The brain quest cards are even small enough we can take them with us for car rides! 🎉
