I always find little pockets of inspiration when an outfit comes together. A combination of just a few pieces can inform the mood and the structure to create something familiar. To me, this one felt like a ring leader of a circus, and yet it’s perfectly mature and chic in the design. The tangible elements, like the garment structure and fabric, can inform the intangibles like how you carry yourself, how you walk, and how you act.

AD: In my latest OOTW video, I let Audrey Hepburn style me with some new arrivals at @everlane. I noticed that a handful of their pieces looked like a modern take on her timeless style. This is one of the 7 looks I shared, getting inspiration on how she wore pieces in her own way. Personally, I have never worn a button-up top this way before…instead of buttoning, Audrey Hepburn transformed it into a wrap top essentially. She tucked in each side of the shirt. Also the popped collar is out of my comfort zone, but it wasn’t just a preference here…It is almost impossible to not pop the collar while wrapping an unbuttoned shirt this way, especially with a relaxed cotton material. Hoop earrings were the perfect combination to this sandstone gingham pattern, and loosely cuffing the sleeves echoed the collar. Thanks Everlane for working with me on this collab. It was truly a dream to put together.

What was the last book you read? Zack and I are listening to an audiobook called The Other Side of History: Daily Life in the Ancient World. It tells what life would have been like for the average person living in ancient Egypt and then throughout other civilizations up through the Middle Ages. It is SO interesting and a perfect bedtime read each night. It kind of feels like time-traveling. // In more recent news, I got a few new pieces in the mail from @moderncitizen, including the Jude wrap blouse and the Callie long cardigan. So far I’m very impressed with the quality. #gifted

AD: You all know I have fond feelings for pointed-toe flats as they give the illusion of extra height (an extra inch or two). I got to try the new 40-Hour flat from @everlane in both Black and Cream.
