As a kid I couldn’t wait for my Mom to bring out the Christmas decor. She had a strict rule of no Christmas until after Thanksgiving so of course I waited in anticipation for the boxes to appear the weekend after. I loved helping her arrange all the pretty bobbles. She had a Snowman and Santa Candle I loved seeing year after year. They would’ve looked amazing with these Green Trees & Peppermint Twist garland. Christmas really is magic!

Remember the song “Black Velvet”? I remember My Mom having this song on repeat in the car as a child. And oh how we loved to give our best Alannah Myles impression when it got to the “Black Velvet if you please!” part. I haven’t thought of that song in ages. It’s funny how a tablecloth can take you back to a moment in time so long ago. This Fall, I’m keeping with a slow Southern style…and DECKing the table with Blue Velvet. Teal to be exact, although Black Velvet would bring you to your knees too 😉

Ok where my witches at? I’m not letting the kids have all the fun this Halloween! We’re taking girls night up a notch with this spellbinding table & serving up some Sparkling Spiced Pumpkin Punch! Who’s with me?
Ingredients
▢ 1 cup pumpkin puree
▢ 4 cups apple cider
▢ 2 cups orange juice
▢ 1 cup spiced rum
▢ 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
▢ 2 bottles well chilled champagne or sparkling wine (.75 liters each)
▢ sliced oranges, apples, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, star anise for garnish, if desired.
Instructions
1. In a punch bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, apple cider, orange juice, rum and cinnamon until well combined and the pumpkin has dissolved.
2. Pour the champagne into the punch bowl and stir briefly.
3. Garnish the punch with cranberries, sliced oranges, apples, cinnamon sticks and star anise, if desired.
4. Serve immediately.
