The nursery...
This crib will be coming down and a single bed will go into this room. It seems like yesterday that my grandsons were born and here it is 2.5 years later and they’re no longer babies! Time is moving so fast these days.
Crazy work day over here, send help, and then tonight we head over to my daughters to watch little Logan tomorrow then it’s back home tomorrow night. I can’t wait until we live closer, 6 hrs of driving I can do without!

Fall is in the air this morning and it feels like a big cozy hug! We played move the carpets this weekend, (if you haven’t played, it’s so much fun😂) talk about a workout! 💪🏼This room stayed the same, but my bedroom and dining room rugs got moved around. Next it’s time to add some fall 🍂coziness to the upstairs. I already added the large case of dried hydrangeas🍁 to the guest room.

Fall decor for the hall. Keeping it really simple this year. We are off to see Logan and his mommy and daddy today! Nothing like a grand baby fix to make your entire weekend. Lots of driving, almost 6 hours on the road, but maybe we can get some antiquing in as we go! It is feeling very fall today with a high of 17°C or 62°F! First day to get out a cozy sweater! There has even been snow in western Canada!

I’ve had a bunch of people ask me where my fridge is.. 🤗. So, I figured I’d show you the other side of my kitchen. Guess I don’t really think of this side too much! But I do have a fridge and an oven, honest!😂
My photo bombers are anxious for a morning walk.... can you tell?🐶😂😜
When I design a kitchen I look at flow first and foremost, this single prep sink allows me to work seamlessly when cooking and I’m able to see out over the dining and living area, so I feel like I’m a part of what is going on.

First cutting of my peonies from the garden deserves to be documented! These smell so amazing!!🌸🌸🌸. I planted some white ones this year but don’t think I’ll get any blooms from them. Only 3 of my six plants have buds. I think the late ice storm affected them😠. Hoping to get a couple more clippings this year.🤞🏼
I spent the morning out shopping with a client. It was such a pleasant experience. She was having such difficulty finding the right sofa for her. It was great to not only find the right sofa but to also help her with some other design dilemmas. I do love what I do!

Monday, Monday.... wish it was Sunday... but bunnies and bird nests certainly make it a little better. It’s only 3pm and I’ve already spent 3 hours in a car, dealt with plumbers and electricians and did some shopping for a client. It’s nice to get back home, even if it is to work at the home office. I’m loving the extra daylight and always feel so much better this time of year. I know so many of you are right there with me!! Yay to sun power! 🌞☀️🌞 Now to figure out if I want to do some baking or not... I’m so wanting to try some gluten free cinnamon buns, let’s see if that makes it on the agenda!

I still can’t stop smiling in this space. It’s funny how a simple little change can make me so happy. That old mirror just has my heart!
After more than 10 years working in the design business, I’m still surprised by the dramatic change paint can make in a space. The off white table and chairs has given this area such a different feel, and I know I’m only a paint brush and some paint away from another look if my heart desires it. Don’t shy away from painting a piece, it can always be repainted, or even stripped down and sanded back. Create what your heart desires and you will truly be home.
It’s another bright and sunny day here, and Sammie has chosen the brightest sunbeam in the sunroom to stretch out in. It’s definitely a dogs life over here!

Finally managed to put this #diningroom area, off of my #kitchen together. Swipe left for the last look. I loved the black but really wanted to bring these #wickerchairs into the space and the off white just works better. I also wanted to add this 1800’s mirror from the dresser I #refinished and am using in my living room. I #upholstered The seats using some linen material o had left over from another project. An easy update that just took some elbow grease and paint. The table base is painted cloud white by @benjaminmoore and I used my home made chalk paint recipe to make it into #chalkpaint and then put a clear wax on top. I’d been saving for a long time for these chairs and am so happy to have them finally in this space.

I found the most amazing bargain last week @homesensecanada and it was just by chance! I was out shopping for a client and I came across this #throwrug for... wait for it... $14.99!!! I have been looking for something that had the colour of my favourite #kettle and a darker blue for contrast and there she was, in all her glory, and for an amazing price. Needless to say, she ended up in my cart and I did a little happy dance to the checkout! I love the texture it brings into this space. The finds that you’re least expecting are always the most fun! It’s been a week since I was able to climb the stairs and sleep in my own bed, and I have to say I’m missing it! I’m thinking I’ll be heading up there tonight and enjoying the comforts of this space., even if I have to bum up my stairs! There is something about snuggling in under the blankets and reading a book before bed that I love. This room has had many transitions over the years but I think this one is my favourite so far. Hubby wants a room that’s a little more masculine next time, so we will see. I figure I have to give in just a little!🤷🏻‍♀️😂

So... I’m thinking about painting the base of this table in @missmustardseed paint in a bluish colour called kitchen scale (swipe left to see the colour) and then doing the chairs either in white or the same colour... your thoughts??? This space is right in my kitchen. Wendy @homeinspired_withwendyj sent me some to try out and I’m excited to try it! So... am I just anxious to try them... or do you all think it will work?

Veto always chooses the best spots! It was a gorgeous day here today and I took the opportunity to get out and get some exercise. Shared some of our local historic homes in my stories. Trust me when I say you’ve gotta keep your body moving! It hasn’t been a good year for me and the weight has crept on... so I’m taking back control. I’m using the weight watchers app, as well as using my Fitbit. I’m also doing this with my 3 sisters. We all have fitbits and we do these little challenges each day to keep us motivated. It’s fun and it helps to have someone holding you accountable. Funny thing is, one sister is super competitive, and she actually started walking at 11:30 at night to win one of our daily challenges! I’m in bed at that point, and I’m like no way, I ain’t getting out of bed for that! But I did surpass my goal that day! So if you’re on one of these journeys, keep it real and stay true to you. Here is to a healthier 2018!

32 years ago today I married my best friend in a very small ceremony at the Courthousein Thunder Bay, Ontario. By small, I mean the Justice of the Peace, my husband, a friend, and a prisoner in the docket, who, by the way, ended up being one of our witnesses when our other friend ran late!We were young - 19 and 24 and in our early years of college.We had nothing but each other and a whole lot of love.This man of mine, he is my greatest confidant and biggest supporter, he lights up my smile with a glance and still makes my heart race with his smile.He is my rock and my foundation.The years have not always been easy and sometimes it has felt like the world was against us, but he has always been there to listen, to hold my hand and to always, always lift me up.We’ve raised two amazing children together and now we are lucky enough to have their children, our grand babies, to fill our hearts even more.So, although we are thousands of miles away from each other today physically, we are forever connected by our hearts.These roses arrived at the door for me... you might ask why the different colours... well, each roses means something different and he has always told me, I’m his everything.Feeling loved and very blessed today.Sorry about another kitchen pic, but there is nothing quite like a #farmhousesink filled with #flowers.

It may be -12 but that winter sun is gorgeous! After having a dark kitchen for years this light and bright white kitchen makes my heart happy. I’m about to cook up some tacos for the hubs and create a bit of a mess in this space. But that is what Kitchens are for!😂
