an “outdated” 90’s desk area in our kitchen that I decided not to get rid of during our home renovations and LOVE!! 💗

I noticed there was a lot of talk about how these desk areas in kitchens were either being omitted for new build homes or that people were getting rid of them and putting something else in place of it. I’ve heard that it was an underutilized space and not serving purpose in many homes.

We decided to keep it! We updated it a little by swapping knobs and changed the granite counter here to a quartz. I wanted to go all the way up to the cabinets with quartz but with all our other renovations at the time, we cut that idea. Anyway, our boys use this little homework station as I cook dinner, I sit there and check emails, I put the mail here when I walk in, and I love decorating it! It just works so well for our family! 🥹🫶🏼

What are your thoughts on desk areas like this in a kitchen?
