Every home has that room where everyone naturally ends up. For this family, it was the family room, but the layout wasn’t doing them any favors. The furniture placement made the room feel smaller than it really was and limited how many people could comfortably gather. The biggest change we made wasn’t adding new furniture. It was rethinking the entire layout. There was one catch: an existing HVAC column right in the middle of the TV wall. Instead of trying to hide it, we designed around it with a custom built-in that frames the TV and conceals all of the AV equipment. Now the room feels more open, seats more people, and functions the way this family always hoped it would.
