our goal with this #dwelloctoberstudio design project was to update a '90s builder grade home with lighter, brighter finishes that had a classic, yet modern feel. the living room was a long, rectangular space that had historically proved challenging to find a cohesive furniture layout. to remedy this, we added custom built-in bookcases and a more substantial mantel to make the fireplace the focal point of the room and create character in the home that looked as if it had always existed. new windows, light oak hardwood floors, and fresh white paint transformed the room into an inviting place to relax and unwind. #dwelloctober

when designing interiors, we often start with the kitchen as this room usually serves as the heart of the home. our goal with this #dwelloctoberstudio kitchen design was to transform a small, dark space into a bright and airy one that offered significantly more storage. we chose beautiful light blue cabinetry, glazed white tile for the backsplash, brushed brass hardware, and wicker and rattan accents to create a happy, modern kitchen. #dwelloctober

powder bathrooms often present an opportunity to have fun and make bold design choices, but we opted for a more traditional look with this #dwelloctoberstudio project since this bathroom was located off the main floor landing. although we kept things simple with a white vanity, gray quartzite countertop, and chrome fixtures, the blue patterned floor tile adds the perfect amount of color and personality to the space. #dwelloctober

with this #dwelloctoberstudio design project, our goal was to transform a ‘90s builder grade kitchen into a bright and cheerful space that highlighted the home’s gorgeous natural light and serene feeling. we opted for warm brushed brass cabinet hardware to balance out the cool blue tones of the cabinetry. a white range with brass knobs serves as a focal point on one wall and adds a bit of elegance to the space. white glazed tile, a bell-shaped wicker pendant light, and rattan counter stools provide soft, natural textures. #dwelloctober

when upgrading this basic ‘90s new construction bathroom as part of a #dwelloctoberstudio renovation, we opted for classic finishes that would stand the test of time. the gray vanity served as the jumping off point for this design. when vanity shopping, one of our favorite tips is to purchase a vanity base only, then customize it with your desired sink and stone countertop. we also swapped out the standard hardware for more modern matte black handles and knobs. the marble hexagon floor tile and simple white subway tile on the shower walls tie into the vanity, while subtle pink accents in the bath mat and shower curtain add a touch of warmth to the space. #dwelloctober

we love to create warm and inviting spaces for guests! we designed this cozy guest room as part of a #dwelloctoberstudio renovation and just love how peaceful and inviting it turned out! a floral patterned fabric headboard and gold velvet throw pillows add color to an otherwise neutral room. a vintage cabinet serves as an end table and also adds warmth and texture to the space. #dwelloctober
