AD we're excited to shine a spotlight on the appliances used in our most recent dwelloctoberstudio project, a church to condo revival in downtown Salem. when sourcing the appliances for this kitchen, we opted to order from @Lowe's because they carry Forno, one of our favorite appliance brands. our goal with this project was to create a chic, Parisian apartment-inspired design featuring moody colors and luxurious materials and these appliances from @Lowe's definitely delivered. we have always had great experiences ordering appliances through @Lowe's. #AD it's time to reveal the transformation of the #dwelloctoberstudio church to condo revival balcony! we teamed up with @Lowe's to convert this underutilized space into an outdoor oasis just in time for spring. all of the products we used are available @Lowe's and prove that it's possible to create a chic outdoor space when working with a limited budget. when designing this space, we were inspired by a neutral striped outdoor rug and used it as the backdrop for a cozy seating area featuring a black metal bistro set. next, we introduced a lot of greenery into the space using cement-look planters filled with an olive tree, rubber tree, as well as a railing planter with boxwoods and candytuft flowers. rattan lanterns and black-and-white geometric throw pillows finish off the space with a cozy feeling. #LowesPartner #dwelloctober

located off the main hallway, the guest bathroom at the #preppyhollowhouse was an interior bathroom, meaning that it had no windows and therefore, no natural light. as a result, we aimed to create a bold and bright design full of color in order to give the space a playful personality. we opted for green penny tile on the floors and simple white field tile on the walls, but used coral grout to make a statement. brushed gold plumbing fixtures, a console sink, and a wavy wooden wall mirror give the space a colorful, cheerful feel. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

#AD we're excited to kick off a new #dwelloctoberstudio project, a church to condo revival, where we'll be refreshing a historic one bedroom condo in downtown Salem that was originally built as a church. as this renovation is on a tight timeline in order to capitalize on the busy spring real estate market, we're planning to use @Wayfair products for the redesign. @Wayfair has such a wide variety of home improvement products in stock and ships with lightning speed! for this project, we were inspired by a chic Parisian apartment and are planning to use rich, moody colors, dark wood tones, and brass accents. today, we're sharing our design for the bathroom renovation, which will include large format marble-look porcelain wall tile, plum hexagon mosaic floor tile, a dark wood vanity, and brushed brass plumbing and lighting fixtures. stay tuned to see how the renovation turns out! #Wayfair #WayfairPartner #dwelloctober

while we love a classic blue and white color scheme, one of our favorite tricks is to introduce a third color to keep things from feeling too on the nose. inspired by a beautiful hydrangea print wallpaper from @riflepaperco, we created a custom shade of green paint to use for the trim, doors, and even some of the furniture in the primary bedroom at the #preppyhollowhouse. wide plank white oak hardwood floors and woven wood window shades add natural texture to the space. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

one of our favorite things about designing short-term rentals is the opportunity to make bolder choices than when designing homes that we live in everyday. for the kitchen at the #preppyhollowhouse, we opted for bold coral cabinets, then added subtle green and white star-patterned cement backsplash tile, and brushed gold plumbing fixtures. we love the cheerful, welcoming feeling this combination creates and hope it sets the tone for a fun vacation as soon as our guests walk through the door. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

it may be cold and snowy out here in New England, but we are dreaming of warm summer days spent at the #preppyhollowhouse, enjoying a classic Cape Cod summer. when updating the exterior, we removed the small deck on the back of the house and replaced it with a brick patio perfect for outdoor dining and grilling. we also switched out the existing sliding glass door for a regular exterior door, which allowed us to gain a bit more storage space in the kitchen. the private backyard offers plenty of space for outdoor games. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

when designing the bedrooms at the #preppyhollowhouse, we wanted to give each room its own distinct personality, all while maintaining a cohesive look throughout the house. we chose to use the same green trim paint in each bedroom, but selected different wallpaper for each space. the colorful striped wallpaper used for this room reminded us of sunny days spent playing croquet or tennis. a vintage faux bamboo bedroom set balances out the pastel colors and grounds the space. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

the kitchen turned out to be the most dramatic transformation at the #preppyhollowhouse. first, we removed the wall between the kitchen and living room to create one large open-concept space, then we vaulted the ceiling in the kitchen area to create symmetry and add volume. the existing kitchen felt dark and dated, so we introduced lots of color, using bright coral cabinets and a green star-patterned cement tile for the backsplash. we also added an island with additional storage and space for dining, as well as some white oak open shelving. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

there's just something about this bathroom that gives us that squeaky clean feeling! when redesigning the primary bathroom at the #preppyhollowhouse, we knew that we wanted to convert the existing tub into a walk-in shower and incorporate blue and white striped tile. we love how the light green trim paint offers a fresh take on a classic color scheme. blue and white floral hexagon tile, a white oak vanity, blue sconce, and vintage mirror add the finishing touches to this light and airy bathroom. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

the original living room at the #preppyhollowhouse had a lot of great features to work with: vaulted ceilings, double windows, and a fireplace. to maximize the space and let more light in, we removed a wall that divided the living room and kitchen. we also removed the dated fan-shaped window and gave the fireplace a facelift with a new surround and lots of fresh white paint. a vintage rattan couch and loveseat balance out the white, while green gingham upholstery adds a pop of color. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

today we’re sharing the exterior transformation of the #mixedusemini! when we first purchased the property, it had been vacant for some time and was in need of serious TLC. in addition to new windows, we painted the exterior white for a fresh, clean look and selected a bold turquoise for the shutters and doors, aiming to create a summery, welcoming feeling. natural wood window boxes and a galvanized metal gooseneck sconce add curb appeal and help designate the first floor as a retail space, while the second floor serves as a #dwelloctoberstay short term rental unit perfect for a coastal getaway. #dwelloctober
