This one is subtle — but once you see it, you can’t unsee it. A wool coat that hits mid-thigh or right at the widest part of the hip often throws off proportions, especially with winter layers underneath. It can make outfits feel boxy, dated, or unfinished — even when everything else is “right.” Longer coats create a cleaner vertical line. Cropped coats create intention. That in-between length? It’s usually the problem. This is one of the first things we fix when clients feel like their winter outfits look off. Save this before buying your next coat.
