I have a crazy theory that most women are wearing the wrong jean shape for their body 👇

And I say this as a stylist who has dressed hundreds of women over 40 — the jean shape you default to is probably not the most flattering one for you. Here's what I mean:

The problem with straight leg and skinny jeans:
They follow the exact line of your body without adding any shape or balance. If you carry weight in your hips or thighs, they emphasize it. If you have a straighter figure, they can make you look boxy. They're a default, not a solution.

Why barrel jeans work better for most women:
The wider hip and tapered ankle create an hourglass silhouette naturally — regardless of your actual shape. They add curves where you want them, balance proportions from top to bottom, and skim rather than cling in all the right places.

The styling secret:
Keep the top fitted and simple. A bodysuit, a tank, a fitted tee — let the jean do the shape work and stay sleek on top. The contrast between a structured top and a relaxed barrel jean is what makes the whole outfit look intentional.
