Packing for three days without packing for three weeks. 😉✈️ #ad

As a personal stylist, I’m always thinking about versatility when I pack—fewer pieces, more outfit combinations, and everything needs to earn its spot in my suitcase.

For this trip, I’m packing it all in my @BAGSMART_official Getaway Carry-On with the Moss Tote for everything I want to keep within easy reach while I’m traveling. The goal: plenty of outfit options without the overpacking. 🙌🏻

Hills I will die on as a personal stylist: these 3 pieces belong in every woman’s closet 👇

And I’m not talking about trendy pieces or investment splurges. I’m talking about the kind of foundational pieces that make everything else in your closet work better. Click the link to see exactly what they are — but here’s why they matter:

✨A great pair of jeans. Not just any jeans — the right pair for your body. When your denim fits well everything you put with it looks better. It’s the foundation of half your wardrobe.

✨A classic denim jacket. The layering piece that goes over everything, works in every season, and never goes out of style. If you don’t have a great one you’re missing a key piece of your wardrobe puzzle.

✨A slim elevated sneaker. The shoe that bridges the gap between casual and polished — dressy enough for a put together look, comfortable enough for a full day. The right sneaker changes everything.

All three are linked below — go see which exact pieces made the list! 👇

A little weekend behind the scenes of a personal shopping day. ✨

This client is a CEO—but that doesn’t mean her wardrobe is all suits, heels and boardrooms.

Her workdays can take her from meetings to walking through warehouses, so our goal was to round out her wardrobe with pieces that felt polished and professional, but were also comfortable, practical and easy to move in.

And before she ever walked into the dressing room? Lots of sourcing, ordering pieces in, hauling garment bags through the mall 😅 and putting everything together into complete looks so she could see exactly how the pieces would work in her real life.

Because the best wardrobe isn’t built around a title or a dress code.

It’s built around the life you actually live. 🤍

Here are 3 reasons barrel pants are the most flattering pant shape you’re probably sleeping on 👇

✨They’re designed to flatter curves, not fight them. The wider hip and tapered ankle create an hourglass silhouette naturally — no tucking, no belting, no overthinking. The shape does the work for you.

✨ They make simple tops look intentional. A basic tee or tank suddenly looks styled when it’s paired with a more interesting pant shape. You don’t need a statement top when your pants are already doing the talking.

✨ They’re more versatile than they look. Dress them up with kitten heels and a blazer, keep them casual with a draped layer and mesh flats, or tuck in a fitted tee for a polished everyday look. One pant, endless outfits.
You don’t need to know every trend to have great style.

In fact, trying to keep up with all of them can make your wardrobe feel more disconnected from you.

1. Trends don’t automatically work with your proportions or lifestyle.
Something can look amazing on someone else and still not make sense for your wardrobe.

2. Constantly buying trends creates a closet full of disconnected pieces.
If every new item requires completely different shoes, pants, or accessories, you’re not building a wardrobe—you’re collecting outfits.

Instead, choose 1–2 trends each season that genuinely appeal to you and ask:
→ Can I style this with what I already own?
→ Does it work for my lifestyle?
→ Does it feel like me?

That’s how you make your wardrobe feel current without starting over every season.

It’s not just you — most of us have at least 14 versions of “I thought this would work” hanging in our closet.

As stylists, we’ve seen it all:
✖ Jeans from 2012 you swear will fit again.
✖ Tags still on.
✖ That one shirt you keep because “maybe under a blazer?” You don’t need more stuff.

You need a closet that makes sense for your actual life right now — not your imaginary one. We help busy women 40+ cut through the clutter, ditch the guesswork, and finally love getting dressed again.

#personalstyling #styleover40 #personalstylist #styletipsforwomen #fashionover50
A good cropped tee is one of those closet staples that makes getting dressed so easy. I love the slightly cropped fit for pairing with high-waisted jeans, skirts, or shorts and creating an effortless everyday look. Everything is linked down below!

#LTKootd #LTKgrwm #LTKdayinmylife
Oof. This one hurts a little. 👀

You spent $300 on it. It’s beautiful. It’s great quality. Maybe it still has the tags on it.

And every time you clean out your closet you think…

“But I spent so much money on that.”

So back into the closet it goes.

Here’s the thing: keeping it isn’t getting your money back.

If it doesn’t fit, doesn’t feel like you anymore, doesn’t work for your lifestyle or you simply NEVER reach for it, the price you originally paid doesn’t make it useful now.

So the next time you’re editing your closet and the price tag is the only reason you’re hesitating, ask yourself:

→ Would I choose to wear this today?
→ Does it fit my body AND my life right now?
→ Can I easily think of an outfit I’d wear it with?
→ If I saw it in a store today, would I buy it again?

If the answer keeps coming back no, that tells you something.

Sometimes the most expensive pieces in our closets teach us the best lessons about what we actually wear—and that information can make you a much smarter shopper going forward.

Your closet is valuable because of what you wear, not what you spent. 🤍

Save this for your next closet cleanout.

A full closet doesn’t happen by accident…

But a closet full of pieces you don’t wear usually does.

One of the biggest style mistakes I see is buying individual pieces without thinking about how they fit into your existing wardrobe.

Before you buy something new, ask:
✨ Can I style this at least 3 ways?
✨ Does it fit my real lifestyle?
✨ Does it work with pieces I already own?

The goal isn’t more clothes.

It’s a wardrobe that works.

🤍 Save this before your next shopping trip.

#LTKootd #LTKgrwm #LTKdayinmylife
Here’s something we see all the time as personal stylists: “I have nothing to wear” usually isn’t a clothing quantity problem.

In fact, some of the fullest closets we walk into are the hardest ones to get dressed from.

The problem is usually that there are plenty of individual pieces—but not enough pieces that actually work together. Too many impulse purchases. Too many “almost right” pieces. Too many things bought without considering what was already in the closet.

So when getting dressed feels hard, our first instinct is not to tell a client she needs more clothes.

We figure out what’s keeping the wardrobe from working.

Because a closet with fewer pieces that fit well, work together and support your actual life will serve you infinitely better than a closet packed with things you bought because you liked them individually.

The goal isn’t more clothes. It’s a wardrobe that works.

And there’s a very big difference. 🤍
A simple, chic outfit that feels effortless but still pulled together. I love how all of the pieces work together to create an easy look you can wear throughout the season. Perfect for everyday plans, running errands, or dressing up a little while still keeping things comfortable. Everything is linked down below!

POV: You’ve been inside enough closets to know that it usually takes about 30 seconds to see what’s making getting dressed so hard. 😂

It’s rarely that she needs more clothes.

It’s the pieces that almost work. The proportions that feel just a little off. The things she bought because she loved them—but never figured out how to wear. And a closet full of perfectly good pieces that don’t actually work together.

We see some version of this in closets all. the. time.

And the best part of our job? Watching the moment it all starts to click—and suddenly she can see outfits where she used to see overwhelm. 🤍
An easy outfit formula that always works. Classic pieces, effortless layers, and a few simple accessories make this the perfect look for transitioning from day to night. I love a look that feels polished without trying too hard. Everything is linked down below!

A day in the life of a personal stylist 🛍️☕ — some days are glamorous, and some days are a car full of returns you've been putting off for way too long.

Today was the latter. 😂

I had exactly one hour before my next commitment to knock out Nordstrom and Free People, grab a coffee, and get back on the road. No lingering, no browsing — just in, out, and onto the next thing.

That next thing happened to be my monthly BrainTrust meeting — four hours with a group of women business owners talking through our businesses, our challenges, and what's next. I completely forgot to film a single second of it, so you'll just have to trust me that it happened.

By the time I headed home, I was very glad I'd chosen my favorite striped tee and some comfy cuffed jeans. Four hours of talking business will do that to you.

Not every day is a photo shoot or a styling session — and honestly, the in-between days are part of the job too. 🤍

Most women don’t call me because they need more clothes.

They call me because they’ve reached the point where more clothes aren’t helping anymore.

Their closet is full. They’ve shopped. They’ve tried adding the new jeans, the cute top, the jacket everyone says they need…

And somehow, they’re still standing there in the morning thinking, “I have nothing to wear.”

After years of working with women in their closets, I can tell you: the problem usually isn’t that you don’t have enough.

It’s that you don’t know what works together. You’re missing a few key pieces. Your wardrobe no longer matches your current lifestyle. Or you simply haven’t been shown how to create outfits from what you already own.

That’s the work we do.

We edit. We create outfits. We identify the real gaps. And then we shop—with a plan.

Because the goal was never a closet full of clothes.

It’s a closet that makes getting dressed easier. 🤍

Save this for the next time you’re tempted to shop because you “have nothing to wear.”

Okay, you caught me. There ARE a few downsides to building a wardrobe you actually love. 😉

1️⃣ You stop shopping just because something is cute.
Once you know what works for your body, your lifestyle and your personal style, “but I love it!” isn't enough reason to bring something home.

2️⃣ You start repeating outfits. A lot.
Because when you have outfits that make you feel really good, you stop feeling like you need to reinvent yourself every time you get dressed. Outfit repeating is a sign your wardrobe is working.

3️⃣ You realize you probably need fewer clothes than you thought.
A smaller wardrobe where pieces work together will take you much further than a packed closet full of random things you bought without a plan.

And THAT might be my hottest take as a personal stylist:

The goal isn't to have more clothes. It's to need fewer clothes because the ones you own actually work.

We don't help our clients build bigger wardrobes. We help them build better ones—editing what they own, creating outfits, identifying the true gaps and shopping intentionally to fill them.

So yes, proceed with caution. You might end up loving your closet, getting dressed faster AND shopping less. Terrible, I know. 😉

Save this if you're ready to make your wardrobe work harder—and if you want our help getting there, head to the link in our bio to learn more about working with our personal styling team.

Before you change the pants.
Before you change the top.
Before you throw the whole outfit on the bed and declare that you have NOTHING TO WEAR…

Change. The. Shoe. 😂

I cannot tell you how many times we do this when styling an outfit and suddenly everything clicks.

Sometimes the outfit isn’t wrong.

The shoe is.

Consider this your friendly personal stylist check-in for the day. 🤍

Influencers won’t talk about this because their job is to get you to buy what they’re sharing—whether it works for your body or not.

But here’s the truth: not everything works for every body. Not every style is flattering on everyone. And that oversized trend or low-rise jean they’re pushing? It might look amazing on them and completely wrong on you—and that’s not a YOU problem.

What makes something “”flattering”” isn’t trend-based—it’s about proportion, balance, and fit FOR YOUR SPECIFIC BODY. A-line skirts work magic on some women and do nothing for others. Wide-leg pants can elongate one person and overwhelm another. Cropped jackets hit at the perfect spot on some and cut others in half.

We don’t push trends. We teach you how to identify what actually works with your proportions, height, and natural shape—so you stop wasting money on pieces that look great on the hanger but terrible on you.

The goal isn’t to look like the influencer. It’s to look like the best, most confident version of YOU. 🎯

✨ Follow for styling that’s actually tailored to real bodies
Consider this your official permission slip. 😂

If the outfit looked good, felt good AND made you feel like yourself…

WEAR. IT. AGAIN.

No one is keeping track. And even if they are? Who cares?

Somewhere along the way, social media convinced us that being stylish means constantly coming up with something new.

As personal stylists, we wholeheartedly disagree.

The goal isn’t to never repeat an outfit.

The goal is to have outfits you love enough to WANT to repeat.

So wear the jeans. Wear the blazer. Repeat the entire damn outfit if it was that good. 😂

One of the easiest ways to make getting dressed easier? Start building a mental (or literal) library of the outfits you already know work. And maybe take a picture this time so you remember it the next time you’re standing in your closet saying you have nothing to wear. 🤍

#personalstyle #outfitrepeater #styleover40 #personalstylist #effortlessstyle
Listen, I know they’re just jeans. 😂

But when you find THE pair?

The ones that fit your waist AND your hips. The rise hits exactly where you want it. The length works with the shoes you actually wear. And you put them on without immediately wanting to take them back off…

Suddenly half your closet starts making more sense.

That top you never knew how to style? Works.

The blazer you love but rarely wear? Works.

Your favorite sneakers, flats, sandals, boots? WORK.

And somehow getting dressed in the morning just got approximately 87% easier. 😂

So no, the perfect jeans probably won’t solve all your problems.

But your “what the hell am I wearing today?” problem?

We might be onto something. 😂👖

#personalstylist #denimstyle #styleover40 #outfitideas #effortlessstyle
Getting dressed used to feel easy. You knew what worked. You felt like yourself in your clothes.

But somewhere along the way, that changed.

Maybe your body changed. Your lifestyle changed. Your priorities changed. Or maybe you’ve spent so long dressing for your job, your age, trends or everyone else’s expectations that you’ve lost sight of what you actually like.

We see this with clients all the time.

If your closet doesn’t feel like you anymore, here’s where we’d start:

1. Identify what still feels like you.
Pull out 3–5 pieces you genuinely love wearing. What do they have in common? Think color, silhouette, fit, fabric and overall vibe.

2. Pay attention to what doesn’t.
Notice the pieces you consistently skip over—and ask yourself why. Too fussy? Too conservative? Too trendy? Just not your personality?

3. Dress for your actual life.
Your wardrobe should support how you spend your time now, not the lifestyle you used to have—or the one you think you’re supposed to have.

4. Give yourself permission to evolve.
You don’t have to dress the way you did at 30, 35 or even five years ago. Keep what still feels right and let yourself move on from what doesn’t.

Your style should be a reflection of who you are now—not who you think you need to be.

And sometimes rediscovering your style isn’t about buying anything new. It starts with getting curious about what makes you feel most like yourself. 🤍

Save this and come back to these four questions the next time your closet stops feeling like you.
An effortlessly chic look that feels polished without trying too hard. I love the mix of textures and timeless accessories for an elevated everyday outfit. Everything is linked down below.

#LTKgrwm #LTKdayinmylife #LTKootd
Can we stop pretending stylish people never wear the same thing twice?

They absolutely do.

The difference is that they change the shoes, add a layer, swap accessories, or style the piece in a new way.

Nobody is keeping track of how many times you’ve worn your favorite blazer.

And if they are, they’re probably not paying attention to their own outfit.

Repeat the outfit.
Wear the jeans.
Re-style the dress.

That’s what great personal style actually looks like.

#personalstylist #fashiontips #outfitrepeater #styleinspo #capsulewardrobe
The outfits people call “expensive looking” usually have a few things in common:

• Great fit
• Intentional color combinations
• Quality-looking fabrics
• Thoughtful accessories
• Confidence

None of those things require a designer label.

The most elevated outfits aren’t always the most expensive ones—they’re the most intentional.

#elevatedstyle #fashiontips #personalstylist #styleinspo #outfitideas
A day in the life of a personal stylist 🛍️☕ — camel blazer on, coffee in hand, and a very large bag of returns to finish off from earlier this week.

Anthropologie first, then over to the mall for Nordstrom. Once those were finally done, I shifted gears — because I had a personal shopping appointment that afternoon and a dressing room to set up.

This is the part I love. Pulling pieces with a specific client in mind, thinking through what she already has, what's missing, and what makes sense to add for fall. Getting everything organized and ready before she walks in so that when she arrives, we can just get straight to the good part.

She tried everything on, we talked through fit, made adjustments, and narrowed it down to the pieces that were really going to work for her wardrobe. And then Nordstrom was only stop one — we headed to Aritzia to round out the rest of the day.

Returns in the morning, dressing rooms in the afternoon. Honestly, not a bad way to spend a day. 🤍

One of the biggest fashion misconceptions: price = style.

You can wear expensive clothes and still look unfinished if:
• the fit is off
• the proportions feel awkward
• the styling lacks balance
• the outfit doesn’t feel intentional

Meanwhile, a well-styled basic outfit will always look elevated.

Style has way more to do with HOW you wear something than how much it costs.

#fashiontips #stylingtips #personalstyle #minimalstyle #outfitinspo
Before you hit “add to cart,” try this:

Pick one piece in your closet and create 3 completely different outfits with it.

Most people are using about 20% of their wardrobe on repeat while the rest sits untouched.

The goal isn’t to have more options.
The goal is to use the options you already have.

You might be surprised by how much style is hiding in your own closet.
