Packing for three days without packing for three weeks. 😉✈️ #ad

As a personal stylist, I’m always thinking about versatility when I pack—fewer pieces, more outfit combinations, and everything needs to earn its spot in my suitcase.

For this trip, I’m packing it all in my @BAGSMART_official Getaway Carry-On with the Moss Tote for everything I want to keep within easy reach while I’m traveling. The goal: plenty of outfit options without the overpacking. 🙌🏻

Shop via the link in my bio and get 10% off!

Hills I will die on as a personal stylist: these 3 pieces belong in every woman’s closet 👇

And I’m not talking about trendy pieces or investment splurges. I’m talking about the kind of foundational pieces that make everything else in your closet work better. Click the link to see exactly what they are — but here’s why they matter:

✨A great pair of jeans. Not just any jeans — the right pair for your body. When your denim fits well everything you put with it looks better. It’s the foundation of half your wardrobe.

✨A classic denim jacket. The layering piece that goes over everything, works in every season, and never goes out of style. If you don’t have a great one you’re missing a key piece of your wardrobe puzzle.

✨A slim elevated sneaker. The shoe that bridges the gap between casual and polished — dressy enough for a put together look, comfortable enough for a full day. The right sneaker changes everything.

All three are linked below — go see which exact pieces made the list! 👇

#LTKWorkwear #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
Listen, I know they’re just jeans. 😂

But when you find THE pair?

The ones that fit your waist AND your hips. The rise hits exactly where you want it. The length works with the shoes you actually wear. And you put them on without immediately wanting to take them back off…

Suddenly half your closet starts making more sense.

That top you never knew how to style? Works.

The blazer you love but rarely wear? Works.

Your favorite sneakers, flats, sandals, boots? WORK.

And somehow getting dressed in the morning just got approximately 87% easier. 😂

So no, the perfect jeans probably won’t solve all your problems.

But your “what the hell am I wearing today?” problem?

We might be onto something. 😂👖

#personalstylist #denimstyle #styleover40 #outfitideas #effortlessstyle
You don’t need a designer wardrobe to look polished — just a few elevated style moves ✨

Here are 3 items that can make any spring outfit look more expensive (straight from a personal stylist’s toolkit):
1️⃣ A Sleek Belt – Cinch your waist over a dress, blazer, or lightweight knit. It instantly adds shape and sophistication.
2️⃣ Pointed Toe Shoes – Whether it’s a slingback, flat, or heel, this silhouette elongates your legs and elevates everything.
3️⃣ A Structured Layer – Think a crisp blazer, a cropped trench, or a tailored vest. Clean lines = chic every time.

Looking stylish in spring doesn’t have to be complicated — it’s about smart details and intentional choices.

Need help building a wardrobe that works (and wows)? That’s what we do.

This might sound strange coming from someone who literally shops for a living, but…

Buying more clothes is rarely the first thing I recommend.

The best shopping happens after you understand your closet.

Before we shop for a client, I want to know:

What does she actually wear?
What does she already have plenty of?
What pieces does she love but struggle to style?
What does her real life require?
And what specific pieces would make MORE of her existing wardrobe wearable?

Because shopping without knowing those answers is how you end up with a closet full of individually cute things…and somehow still have nothing to wear.

And here’s probably my biggest shopping rule:

Don’t shop for pieces. Shop for possibilities.

Before you buy something, ask yourself: Can I immediately think of 3 ways I’d wear this—with things I already own?

If the answer is no, it might not be the amazing purchase it looks like hanging in the store.

As personal stylists, our goal isn’t to help our clients own MORE.

It’s to make sure everything they buy has a job to do.

Buy less randomly. Buy more intentionally. And watch how much easier your wardrobe becomes. 🤍

Save this before your next shopping trip.

Wear the blazer.
Wear the statement earrings.
Wear the bright color.
Wear the outfit.

Most of the things we label as “too much” are actually just confidence waiting to happen.

You deserve to take up space.
Your outfit can help you remember that.

#fashionconfidence #personalstyle #outfitinspo #styletips #confidenceboost
You know the feeling.

You put something on.
It doesn’t look how you imagined.
Suddenly you’re questioning everything in your closet.

This is your reminder that one off day doesn’t mean you don’t have style.

Some outfits hit.
Some don’t.

The stylish people aren’t getting it right every day—they just don’t let one outfit stop them from trying again tomorrow.

#fashionconfidence #styletips #personalstylist #summerstyle #outfitideas
Can we stop pretending stylish people never wear the same thing twice?

They absolutely do.

The difference is that they change the shoes, add a layer, swap accessories, or style the piece in a new way.

Nobody is keeping track of how many times you’ve worn your favorite blazer.

And if they are, they’re probably not paying attention to their own outfit.

Repeat the outfit.
Wear the jeans.
Re-style the dress.

That’s what great personal style actually looks like.

A day in the life of a personal stylist ☕🥐 Not every day is client appointments and dressing rooms — and this one was proof.

Met my friend Lauryn at Perenn for coffee and pastries. We're both business owners in the same women's group, and every so often we carve out time to talk shop, bounce ideas, and catch up on real life. Honestly one of my favorite kinds of mornings.

Then it was home to prep for a big event Dana and I had coming up later that week. The behind-the-scenes work that nobody sees is a bigger part of this job than most people realize.

Oh — and before I changed into sweats, I filmed my outfit for an upcoming post. Because when you create content for a living, no good outfit goes undocumented. 😂

Shopping for jeans can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack 🧵—but it doesn’t have to!

Here are the 3 things I always tell my clients before they start their search:
1️⃣ Know your rise: High-rise? Mid-rise? Find the one that flatters your proportions.
2️⃣ Focus on the fit at the waist and hips: A tailor can handle the rest, but these areas need to feel comfortable and supportive.
3️⃣ Check the stretch: A good denim blend should have enough stretch to move with you but enough structure to hold its shape.

Once you follow these, you’ll be well on your way to finding jeans that feel like they were made just for you! 💙

Consider this your official permission slip. 😂

If the outfit looked good, felt good AND made you feel like yourself…

WEAR. IT. AGAIN.

No one is keeping track. And even if they are? Who cares?

Somewhere along the way, social media convinced us that being stylish means constantly coming up with something new.

As personal stylists, we wholeheartedly disagree.

The goal isn’t to never repeat an outfit.

The goal is to have outfits you love enough to WANT to repeat.

So wear the jeans. Wear the blazer. Repeat the entire damn outfit if it was that good. 😂

One of the easiest ways to make getting dressed easier? Start building a mental (or literal) library of the outfits you already know work. And maybe take a picture this time so you remember it the next time you’re standing in your closet saying you have nothing to wear. 🤍

#personalstyle #outfitrepeater #styleover40 #personalstylist #effortlessstyle
Here’s a little stylist secret…

When an outfit feels “off,” it’s usually not because you chose the wrong clothes.

It’s often something much smaller:
✨ The proportions
✨ The shoe choice
✨ The sleeve length
✨ Missing accessories
✨ Where your top hits

Tiny details make a huge difference.

Before you buy something new, try adjusting what you’re already wearing.

🤍 Save this for your next outfit dilemma.
Here’s my hot take: If an outfit looks “off,” it doesn’t necessarily mean you picked the wrong clothes.

And you probably don’t need to take everything off and start over. 🙃

After years of styling women, I can tell you that sometimes the difference between an outfit that feels wrong and one that just WORKS is one small change.

A different shoe.

A little tuck.

Removing the jacket.

Changing the proportion of the top.

Adding a belt.

That’s it.

We’ve somehow convinced ourselves that if an outfit doesn’t immediately come together, we need a completely different outfit.

But good styling isn’t always about finding better pieces. A lot of the time, it’s about knowing how to adjust the pieces you already have.

So before you change your top for the third time, stop.

Change ONE thing. Then look again.

You might be surprised by how little the outfit actually needed. 🤍

A day in the life of a personal stylist 🛍️☕ — some days are glamorous, and some days are a car full of returns you've been putting off for way too long.

Today was the latter. 😂

I had exactly one hour before my next commitment to knock out Nordstrom and Free People, grab a coffee, and get back on the road. No lingering, no browsing — just in, out, and onto the next thing.

That next thing happened to be my monthly BrainTrust meeting — four hours with a group of women business owners talking through our businesses, our challenges, and what's next. I completely forgot to film a single second of it, so you'll just have to trust me that it happened.

By the time I headed home, I was very glad I'd chosen my favorite striped tee and some comfy cuffed jeans. Four hours of talking business will do that to you.

Not every day is a photo shoot or a styling session — and honestly, the in-between days are part of the job too. 🤍

Comment SHOP below if you're curious what a personal shopping appointment actually looks like. 👇

One of the biggest misconceptions I see?

Thinking the solution is another shopping trip.

Most wardrobes don’t need more pieces.

They need better combinations.

When you know a few go-to outfit formulas, getting dressed becomes faster, easier, and so much more enjoyable.

✨ Style what you own before you shop for something new.
Save this reminder for your next “I have nothing to wear” moment.
Another everyday outfit to add to your rotation. This look is simple, effortless, and easy to recreate while still feeling polished and put together. Perfect for those days when you want to look chic without overthinking what to wear. Everything is linked down below!

#LTKgrwm #LTKdayinmylife #LTKootd
Here’s what actually changes…

You spend less money.
You wear more of what you own.
You stop saying, “I have nothing to wear.”
You start buying with confidence instead of impulse.

Shopping becomes easier because every purchase has a purpose.

A thoughtful wardrobe will always outperform a crowded one.

✨ Save this before your next shopping trip.
Before you change the pants.
Before you change the top.
Before you throw the whole outfit on the bed and declare that you have NOTHING TO WEAR…

Change. The. Shoe. 😂

I cannot tell you how many times we do this when styling an outfit and suddenly everything clicks.

Sometimes the outfit isn’t wrong.

The shoe is.

Consider this your friendly personal stylist check-in for the day. 🤍

Before you head to your favorite store…

Challenge yourself to style one piece three different ways.

Switch the shoes.
Add a belt.
Layer a blazer.
Swap your jewelry.

Most “boring” outfits don’t need replacing.

They need reimagining.

✨ Your next favorite outfit might already be hanging in your closet.

Save this for the next time you’re convinced you need to go shopping.
That formal dress for the gala you’ll “probably” attend. The hiking gear for the trips you might take. The professional blazer for the job you might get.

These “just in case” pieces are really about not committing to who you are RIGHT NOW. They’re the “what ifs” keeping you stuck.

Here’s the truth: if you haven’t used it in a year, you’re not going to. And keeping it is just taking up space and reminding you of things that haven’t happened.

Give yourself permission to dress for your actual life today—not an imaginary future.

“Age-appropriate” is code for: play it safe, tone it down, blend in, take up less space.

So women 40+ wear beige, cover up, avoid color, avoid trends, dress conservatively. And somehow that reads as… older.

The most stylish women we work with? They stopped following age rules and started dressing with confidence.

They wear color. They try trends (their version of them). They wear what makes them FEEL amazing. And they look current, elevated, and younger than women who are “dressing their age.”

Real style at any age is about fit, proportion, and wearing what makes YOU feel confident—not following arbitrary rules about what your age “should” look like.

There’s no expiration date on style. Only rules that hold you back.

Your body changed—10 pounds, hormones, aging, life—and suddenly nothing feels right.

That’s not a YOU problem. That’s a closet problem.

You’re trying to squeeze into old sizes. Nothing fits the way it used to. You feel frumpy. So getting dressed becomes something you dread instead of enjoy.

The fix? Stop fighting your current body and dress it beautifully RIGHT NOW.

Edit your closet to only what fits today. Learn what actually flatters your current shape. Build outfits for the body you have—not the one you used to have or wish you had.

When your clothes fit your body NOW, getting dressed stops being stressful and starts being easy again.

💬 Comment NOW if you’re ready to dress for the body you have
Okay, you caught me. There ARE a few downsides to building a wardrobe you actually love. 😉

1️⃣ You stop shopping just because something is cute.
Once you know what works for your body, your lifestyle and your personal style, “but I love it!” isn't enough reason to bring something home.

2️⃣ You start repeating outfits. A lot.
Because when you have outfits that make you feel really good, you stop feeling like you need to reinvent yourself every time you get dressed. Outfit repeating is a sign your wardrobe is working.

3️⃣ You realize you probably need fewer clothes than you thought.
A smaller wardrobe where pieces work together will take you much further than a packed closet full of random things you bought without a plan.

And THAT might be my hottest take as a personal stylist:

The goal isn't to have more clothes. It's to need fewer clothes because the ones you own actually work.

We don't help our clients build bigger wardrobes. We help them build better ones—editing what they own, creating outfits, identifying the true gaps and shopping intentionally to fill them.

So yes, proceed with caution. You might end up loving your closet, getting dressed faster AND shopping less. Terrible, I know. 😉

Save this if you're ready to make your wardrobe work harder—and if you want our help getting there, head to the link in our bio to learn more about working with our personal styling team.

If getting dressed has somehow become the most mentally exhausting part of your morning… hi. 👋 You found us. 🤍

We’re Effortless Style, a Nashville-based team of personal stylists, and we believe getting dressed should be one of the easier decisions you make all day.

Not:
“Does this go together?”
“Are these jeans still in style?”
“Which shoes do I wear with this?”
“Why does this outfit look better on her?”
“Am I too old to wear that?”
…and definitely not changing five times before 8am. 😂

We work with real women every day to take the guesswork out of getting dressed—and we share a LOT of what we teach our clients right here.

Stick around for:
✨ Easy outfit formulas you can repeat
✨ Styling tricks that make an outfit finally click
✨ Wearable trends + how to style them in real life
✨ What’s worth buying (and what you can skip)
✨ Ideas for getting more out of the clothes you already own
✨ And plenty of permission to stop following all those outdated style “rules”

Because great personal style shouldn't require thinking about clothes all day.

The goal is to know what works, put it on, feel good and GO.

If that sounds like the kind of style advice you’ve been looking for, follow along. You found your people. 🤍

And if you want us to take some of that overthinking off your plate personally, you can learn more about working with our styling team through the link in our bio.

#personalstylist #styleover40 #styleover50 #wardrobetips #effortlessstyle
An outfit formula is a proven combination you repeat over and over—with different pieces swapped in.

It sounds simple because it IS. But it changes everything.

Here’s what it looks like:
Formula 1: Jeans + Fitted Top + Blazer + Loafers

Wear it to work, coffee, errands. Swap the jeans (black, blue, white). Swap the top (tee, blouse, tank). Same structure, endless outfits.

Formula 2: Wide-Leg Pants + Tucked Tee + Heels + Belt

Works for dinner, dates, events. Change the pant color, swap the tee texture. Always polished.

Formula 3: Midi Skirt + Sweater + Sneakers + Denim Jacket

Your casual elevated look. Rotate skirts, swap sweater styles. Effortless every time.

Once you have 3-5 formulas that work for YOUR body and YOUR life, you stop overthinking. You stop shopping aimlessly. You stop staring at your closet feeling stuck.

Getting dressed becomes automatic.

✨ Follow for outfit formulas that simplify your life
💬 Comment FORMULAS to work with us and build your personalized formulas
Yep. I said cheaper. 👀

Because the number on the price tag doesn’t tell you what something will actually cost you.

Let’s say you buy a $300 jacket and wear it 100 times.

$3 per wear.

Now take that $40 top you bought because it was “such a good deal”—but you only wore it once before deciding you didn’t really love the fit.

$40 per wear.

Suddenly that $300 jacket doesn’t sound quite so expensive, does it?

This is cost per wear, and it’s one of my favorite ways to think about whether something is actually worth buying.

Before I invest in a piece, I want to know:
→ Will I wear it regularly?
→ Can I style it multiple ways?
→ Does it work with pieces I already own?
→ Is the quality good enough to hold up?
→ Will I still want to wear it a year from now?

Because as a personal stylist, I don’t think the goal is to spend MORE on clothes.

The goal is to spend BETTER.

We did a full deep dive on cost per wear—including how to calculate it and how we use it to make smarter shopping decisions—on the Effortless Style blog.

Comment COST below and I’ll send you the link to read it.
And save this for the next time you’re debating whether something is really worth the price tag. 🤍

#personalstylist #costperwear #wardrobetips #styleover40 #effortlessstyle
Here’s the thing I wish more women knew: Having “nothing to wear” usually has very little to do with how many clothes you own.

I see it every week. A closet can be FULL and still not function.

You might have plenty of individual pieces you love—but not enough pieces that work together.

You might own 15 great tops—but only two bottoms you actually feel good wearing.

You might have beautiful clothes—but they belong to a lifestyle you’re not really living anymore.

Or you might simply have never taken the time to turn all those individual pieces into actual outfits.

And THAT is why adding another random cute top usually doesn’t solve the problem.

So the next time you’re standing in front of your closet thinking, “I have nothing to wear,” don’t immediately ask yourself what you need to buy.

Instead, ask:
→ What am I actually wearing on repeat?
→ Which pieces do I love but never seem to wear—and WHY?
→ Do I have enough pieces that actually work together?
→ What could I style differently with what I already own?
→ Is there one specific missing piece that would make several things in my closet more wearable?

That last question is especially important. Because there’s a big difference between buying something because it’s cute and buying something because it solves a problem in your wardrobe.

The goal isn’t a closet full of clothes.

It’s a closet full of outfits.

And the second one is what makes getting dressed easy. 🤍

Save this and pull it back up the next time you’re convinced you have “nothing to wear.”
