Chicken Noodle Soup 1 Rotisserie Chicken, white & dark meat removed from bones and chopped
4 Carrots, sliced
1 Onion, diced
1 Clove of Garlic, grated
1/2 tbsp Butter
1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
8 cups Chicken Stock
4 cups Frozen Egg Noodles
1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped

Heat the butter and olive oil in a large Dutch oven. Add in the carrots, onions, and garlic. Saute over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add in the dried thyme, salt & pepper, and chicken stock. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 30 minutes until carrots are cooked through. Add in the diced chicken and egg noodles. Cook for another 20 minutes or until noodles are tender. Sprinkle in the fresh parsley and enjoy!

I’m a professional homebody and this is what spring looks like around here. After a long New England winter (that by the way had no intention of going anywhere anytime soon), I start craving light. Not just sunshine (although I’ll take that too), but lightness in our home. Lighter layers. Brighter corners. Rooms that feel like they can finally breathe. Refreshing our home for spring is not a dramatic makeover. It’s about paying attention to the smaller details, what feels heavy, cleaning what winter left behind, rotating a few things, and letting in more light. Refreshing our home is a slow process for me.
I move slowly, room by room, doing on thing at a time. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing a space wake up again after months of cozy hibernation. It reminds me that homes, just like seasons, are meant to evolve.
And here’s the best part…none of it requires starting over. Most of it is simply using what we already have in a more intentional way. This is the rhythm I love, noticing when it’s time for a shift and leaning into it.

I finally decided it was time to leave the house after being home since the blizzard. Ok, maybe the fact that we needed groceries was the real motivation but I also needed a little Target stroll for my homebody soul. So, here’s some of my favorite finds that I’m pretty sure most homebodies can agree are essential in a cozy home. Well, they are in our house anyways.

I talked about making lampshade covers in my post today, and I just finished another one (some may say I’m obsessed). I used an old gingham tablecloth and hot glue…..no you don’t need to know how to sew to update a lampshade! The lampshade cover is over this green lampshade that came with the teapot lamp.
I think it’s safe to say I’m officially in my granny era. (Without literally being a grandma, I’m not ready for that!) If you had told me even just a year ago that grandma hobbies would help calm my anxiety, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Now, I’ve always known that creativity helps with my overthinking. Rearranging a shelf, baking something from scratch, starting a small DIY project, those things have always felt grounding to me. But last December, I bought a metal potholder loom and started weaving simple potholders to give as Christmas gifts. I didn’t expect much from it. I just thought it would be nostalgic and a little fun. What I didn’t expect was how noticeably calmer I felt. There was something about the rhythm of weaving, the repetition, the simplicity of it that quieted the mental noise that’s a constant in my head. Here’s the thing, it didn’t require perfection or time on my phone. It was just a small craft done with my hands, and somehow that felt incredibly calming. That’s when I started paying attention. Because if something as simple as weaving potholders could quiet my mind, maybe there was more to these so-called “grandma hobbies” than I realized.

Comment GRANNY and I’ll send you the tutorials for my favorite grandma hobbies along with a link to shop the supplies you might need.

Love this cozy quilted throw blanket for spring and summer.
You know you got a lot of snow when it’s getting into your tall Hunter boots.

#LTKdayinmylife
There’s a full blown blizzard happening outside right now (we’re on the south shore of Massachusetts). The wind is howling, the snow is falling sideways, and we literally cannot see out of any of our windows. But what am I doing? Decorating of course!!! While I might complain about the snow (I hate the cleanup and gray ugly snow that follows), my homebody heart really does love snow days because well, you don’t have a choice but to be stuck at home. And as you know, that’s my favorite place to be. There’s something about a storm that feels like permission. Permission to stay in. Permission to light the candles at 2pm. Permission to reorganize a shelf. The world outside might be whiteout conditions, but thankfully inside, it’s warm and cozy. Snow days force us to slow down. And as much as I pretend to resist them, I secretly love that everything pauses for a minute. No errands. No rushing. Just home. So yes, I’ll probably complain about all the work that comes with snow tomorrow. But today? Today I’m fluffing, styling, and fully embracing my indoorsy, homebody heart.

P.S. I’m very lucky to have a husband that loves playing in the snow with his snowblower so I don’t have to!
