If ever there was a holiday created to beat the winter blues, I have to say it’s Valentine’s Day. Right in the middle of the cold, gray stretch of winter, it shows up with a pop of color, a little sweetness, and an excuse to make home feel cozy again. Now, maybe you’re like Mr. ERH and consider Valentine’s Day to be another Hallmark holiday...and quite frankly, you might be right. But I still think it’s worth celebrating. For me, Valentine’s Day isn’t about bouquets of red roses or overly themed decorations. It’s about cozy moments like a simple DIY, a homemade treat, or adding a touch of pink or red to spaces we use every day. Nothing complicated. Nothing overwhelming. A cozy home isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I think that’s something we all need (I know I do) to be reminded of every now and then. What feels comforting and grounding to one person might feel completely different to someone else, and neither is right or wrong. Our homes are meant to support our lives, not compete with anyone else’s or live up to an imagined standard. Coziness isn’t about perfection, trends, or checking off a list. It’s about how your space makes you feel when you walk through the door. It’s about ease, familiarity, and creating an environment that allows you to relax. A home should feel like a place where you can slow down and be yourself. I believe that the most inviting homes are the ones that reflect the people who live in them. When you let go of comparison and start paying attention to what actually brings you comfort, your home naturally becomes warmer and more meaningful. There’s freedom in realizing you don’t need to do things the same way as anyone else to create a space you love. At the end of the day, coziness is personal. Sundays don’t get much cozier than this. Oh and not having anywhere to be makes it even better! Snow is falling outside, the house is clean, there’s a pot roast in the crockpot for dinner, a movies on, and my new teapot lamp adding the coziest glow.

Just when I thought our kitchen couldn’t get any cozier…it did! I decided to splurge a little and spend the money and gift cards I received for Christmas on the Amazon Echo Show. And while I did hem and hew for a few days about whether I should make the purchase, I don’t regret it one bit. This device has been the best addition to our kitchen without looking like an electronic. It actually looks like framed art on our counter, but it does so much more and kind of acts like a hub for your family. My personal favorite part is that I can turn nostalgic movies on while I’m in the kitchen making dinner or washing dishes. Can you imagine having Home Alone on while baking Christmas cookies?! Gah…soooo cozy!!! I also love that when I’m not in the kitchen, I can display artwork to keep the cozy vibes going.

Here’s a few other things the Echo Show can do, however I’m still learning the device so I know there is so much more:

-Display your calendar, reminders, and to-do lists at a glance.
-Stream shows, recipes, music, and podcasts.
-Act as a digital photo frame for family photos.
-Control smart home devices with voice commands.
-Make video calls and send announcements around the house.

We have the 21” size with a light brown frame. I have ours displayed on a gold book easel but you can use a plate stand, cookbook holder, or you can hang it on the wall (hardware for that is included in the box).

Something new in the kitchen! I’m loving our new Amazon Echo Show 21.

I decided to spend my Christmas money and Amazon gift cards on the new Echo Show 21, and I’m in love. There is so much this device can do which I’m still learning but I love how it doesn’t look like an electronic device in our kitchen, it looks like a piece of art. I added a light brown frame and have it displayed on a gold book easel. If you want the link to the book easel, comment STAND and I’ll send it to you.

My #ootd. Walmart is killing it in the clothing department lately, I’ve been buying most of my clothes from there. I’m wearing a small in the henley, and a 6 long in the jeans. My entire outfit is less than $50.

And finally I replaced the old gingham ottoman with this ruffle skirted one.

I swapped out the Christmas accent rug we had here with this more neutral one…..which is less than $17 by the way. Oh and it has a non-slip backing!

Then I vacuumed because as much I love the hydrangea wreath, when you bump into it, it always loses petals. We’ve had this vacuum for 3-4 years now, and love it. It’s worth every penny.

I started redecorating this small entryway by removing the gingham ottoman and selling it on FB Marketplace. I’ve always loved the fabric but I never loved the legs (it always felt a little too modern for our home), so it was time for a change.

Decorating cozy corners around our home cures my winter blues.
