Remember the days when you went to Walmart for toilet paper and shampoo and not home decor?

Welp…those days are officially over.

The home section has been so good lately (clothing too), and I keep finding pieces that make me stop and think, I can’t believe that’s from Walmart?!

So naturally, I had to round up some of my favorites to share with you.

There are cozy textures, pretty patterns, warm colors, and so many pieces that look much more expensive (think Pottery Barn, Magnolia, Anthropologie) than they actually are.

Sunday crafting on the living room floor. I took a couple of the faux seeded eucalyptus stems I bought last week, weaved them onto a small grapevine wreath, and then hof glued on a few apples. So easy to make but super cute for fall!

There are a LOT of faux fall flowers out there, and let’s just say, they’re not all created equal.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to faux flowers because I want them to look as close to the real thing as possible…not perfect, overly bright, or obviously plastic.

So, I did a little browsing at Michaels and rounded up the best fall faux flowers that I would actually buy for our home (I did end up buying a few of the seeded eucalyptus stems yesterday).

I thought I would also share what I look for when I’m shopping for faux flowers:

- You want faux flowers to have muted, natural colors like you’d find in nature. You don’t want anything too bright or saturated. Those bright blue mums…skip them!
- Imperfect petals and leaves because real flowers are never perfectly shaped.
- Variation in color throughout the petals, leaves, and stems.
- Bendable stems so I can shape them and make an arrangement look more natural.
- Realistic leaves. Sometimes the flower looks great, but the leaves give it away, I hate that!
- Flowers that look good up close, not just from across the room.
- Stems I can use in more than one season (you know I love decor that can work for me year round).

And one of my biggest faux flower tricks is to not be afraid to bend, fluff, trim, or even remove a few leaves. Straight out of the store they can look a little stiff, but a few small tweaks can make a big difference. I’ve even been known to iron the leaves on a faux stem if they’re all crinkled to make them look more real!

If you had told me 2 years ago that Walmart would be one of my favorite places to shop for clothes, I most definitely would not have believed you.

And yet, here we are.

I love cute clothes. I love clothes that look expensive. I just don’t love the expensive price tag that comes along with them.

And Walmart has been absolutely killing it lately.

I’ve found so many pieces that I genuinely love, actually wear, and would have NEVER guessed came from Walmart.

Apparently this stage of my life is all about looking like you have champagne taste while paying Walmart prices.

*Note: I find most Walmart clothes to run true to size. I typically purchase either an extra small or small in tops, size 6 in bottoms, and a small or medium in the pjs. For reference, I’m 5’9” and about 140ish pounds.
